hey I know it's been a while since you made those posts about the Jedi being colonizers and the Sith species and suchlike, but I found them really interesting cause I had a lot of the same thoughts

I don't have a poc perspective (though i do at least like to think that i have some perspective of a colonized culture), but I am really drawn in by the tragedy of the sith as a culture. Long extinct by the present, and the only memory that exists of them is through the eyes of the Jedi, whose religion labeled them as evil, and an endless parade of non-sith treating that bastardized version of the culture like a secret society they can play around in

Day 31 of swtortober: The Dark Side

connection [season one, episode four 'twilight']. some story points are below the cut <3

Nuri has recently become Mai's padawan and the training process has not gone well for either of them so far. Mai finds Nuri's bluntness and empathy abilities confronting while Nuri finds Mai passive and disingenuous. It isn't until they undertake a mission on Pantora that they find common ground. They pause their main mission to help a local village which is under attack from a beast. They are shown the village's dead and their scars. Nuri notices that Mai is visibly disturbed and stilled by the scars on the people’s faces, which are similar to her own.

They go hunting for the beast and discover its reasons for attacking the village: they stole and killed one of the beast’s babies months ago. But by being so angry at the villagers, the beast has started to neglect its other babies. They go back to the village and confront the villagers, who apologize and beg the Jedi to kill the beast. Nuri struggles not to get angry on behalf of the beast, instead being sharp to the leaders. Mai and Nuri have a discussion about what to do - Mai empathizes with the villager’s pain (they did not know what they were doing and now they have lost so many people). Nuri empathizes with the beast (who lost its cub and is now embroiled in its own grief). Mai suggest that Nuri use her powers to calm the beast and allow it to put its grief to rest.

They go into the cave and have an encounter with the beast - Nuri calms it and guides it into letting go of its grief. This is the first time Nuri has used her powers to release and calm pain in others and without realizing, she helped Mai work through her pain as well.

As a long time fan of Star Wars my advice for the lesbians is to never expect anything from Lucas Art or Disney. SWTOR remains a great exemple of homophobic behavior made real by stupid companies.

“Turns out, it was a contractual obligation, and not BioWare’s decision. Lucasarts was worried that same-sex romances would cause problems from Star Wars’ ”fundamentalist Christian” fanbase. But, in a hilarious twist of fate, the contract only said that Lucasarts could influence the game’s content during development. Because of this wording, Lucasarts had unknowingly given BioWare a loophole to add as many same-sex romance options as they wanted once the game was out, leading to them being present in Rise of the Hutt Cartel and beyond.”

Agent has a choice of romantic interests in the game and both Kaliyo and Raina are good characters, especially Kaliyo, she's an interesting, conflicted and complex character, but I didn't see them both as romantic interests for my Agent. I came up with an OC heroine for him, she's related to the Chiss Ascendancy (I like to headcanon that the Chiss are a kind of neutral territory in SWtOR where people who are force sensitive but don't want to go to the Sith Academy can hide). Aurora is just one of those Force-sensitive people who has never really learned her powers, her powers are in their infancy and in the future I would like to come up with an arc for her in which she would reveal them at the Alliance base in the Jedi Enclave. In the picture here, they're just meeting after a separation at the Alliance base. They look happy, but in reality things are complicated between them, writing love lines is a hard task.
