this is a sideblog i made just to have a place to shout my opinions into. anything i post about, i genuinely see as an interesting topic and i welcome all good faith discussion and debate on this blog! my perspective is only my own and i love to learn and consider new ideas. i hesitate to call this a discourse blog since i have absolutely zero interest in arguing with anyone, and anyone who approaches me rudely or aggressively will simply be blocked and i won't respond to your comment.

i wanna see more art of trans men with boobs where the point of the art is anything other than the fact that they have boobs. i want the idea of trans men with breasts to stop being novel. i want people to stop perceiving trans men as only either having already had top surgery or always binding. i want people to stop assuming everyone with visible breasts is a woman or woman-aligned. i want breasts to become a completely genderless feature. i wanna be allowed to let em hang without being misgendered. i wanna be able to stop worrying about what to put on my chest every day for the sake of other people's perception of me without feeling pressured into getting expensive surgery. i want that to stop being the only two options for transmascs

The thing is, I haven’t looked into this movie much but “male sex worker who becomes pregnant with a terrifying creature” could’ve been a fantastic case of body horror focused on a transmasculine perspective but considering both the responses I’ve seen and the fact that the MC is going to be played by a cis man I have zero hope that trans men are going to be allowed any space in this conversation but whatever I guess. Fucking whatever. Another year of leftists forgetting that mpreg isn’t just an ao3 kink and is in fact a very real and potentially life-threatening experience for trans people.

We really need like.. a seperate word for transmasculine (& similar) pregnancy to seperate it from mpreg. Like how dual genitalia (forgot the proper term for the kink) is separated from intersex. Cuz they're just not the same thing, ones a kink and fantasy, one is real life and comes with real dangers and harm

do we really, though? can mpreg really be considered just "kink and fantasy" if it's extremely possible and to a degree common for men to get pregnant in real life? that would be like writing off every woman depicted in porn with a penis as "just a fetish" when there are countless real women with penises out there. dual genitalia (ie, a fully formed penis in addition to a fully formed vulva) in porn can only barely be considered distinct from intersex people, because most intersex people's bodies look nothing like the caricature that porn has made of them- and even then, it is not nearly hard to find intersex people discussing how horribly skewed the public perception of actual intersex people is as a direct result of that porn. i know that realistically, you can't stop anyone from fetishizing anything, but i think if we can generally agree that terms like "futa" or "herm" are porn categories that either horribly misrepresent the people it claims to be depicting or are claimed that they're just cis and look like that for no real reason, then it shouldn't be unfair to want to put "mpreg" in the same category when it hits all the same qualifications

trans men and transmascs do need to hear they aren't hurting anyone for being masculine, but more than that they need to hear that they are loved for being masculine. your masculinity is wonderful and magical and you pull it off incredibly well. your masculinity is cool, it's desirable, it's attractive. there are people out there who will be drawn to you because of your masculinity, not just in spite of it. you deserve more than just to be tolerated in queer spaces. your masculinity deserves to be celebrated

I find safety in masculinity. Because of the way I grew up - raised by a single dad (abusive mother), it was strong masculine men who speak with clarity and find honour in supporting those around them that kept me safe, that taught me things, pushed me forward. Father, uncles, brothers, cousins, friends, both cis and trans...

You make me feel safe.

i feel like collectively we need a better way to distinguish between "even though it probably isn't consciously, what you're doing is a symptom of systemic racism/misogyny/etc and you should consider stopping" and "you are being purposely racist/misogynistic/etc and have no care for the way your actions affect others" bc rn it seems both of these types of people are being read as "you are A Racist/Misogynist, a distinct and immutable category of being separate from human"

Do not prostrate yourself in front of people in order to gain their favour. You deserve love, respect, decency, and to be treated like anyone else. This should come by default.

the reason i dont like egg jokes really does just come down to the fact that they seem to rely on the idea that there are certain behaviors that are inherently (or at least usually) indicative of gender. it's something i see reflected in the "performative male" type posts on tiktok- "this man has a miffy pencil case, which no REAL man would have"- the idea is still rooted in misogyny ("only girls would like something DUMB like miffy") but feels more acceptable to say because it's directed at a (cis) man. but do the people who laugh at these men ever consider that maybe the "performative male" is really a newly-discovered or questioning trans woman trying to explore femininity? have we considered that maybe if we stop giving the random cis guy shit for being curious about makeup as a man, or if we stop giving the femboy shit for liking skirts and thigh highs as a boy, then maybe the trans girl wouldn't feel so scared to say she likes these things when she comes out but still looks like a "man"

ive been thinking about how biased SE is when there are many trans people talking about intersex issues and nonbinary issues and the issues of trans poc and trans masc issues who are also wrongfully marked red on SE despite consistently making posts against terfs and terf rhetoric

and yet specific blogs with high follow counts will openly debate AGAB politics and push terf and explicitly exclusionist truscum rhetoric and yet theyll be green on SE

its like SE thinks being a terf means,,,,,,,,,, having inclusive intersectional feminism??? BUT you WONT be marked a terf if your feminism is trans exclusionary as long as it isnt exclusionary of trans women historical revisionism at play that they think terf always meant twerf

yeah no absolutely and not only are they infantilizing other trans women theyre actively mad that people who disagree with them assert that they are full adult women with autonomy who not only disagree but disagree from experience and they demand trans women stop doing it

because its effective because it works because speaking from lived experience is effective as hell at refuting faulty and harmful rhetoric

thats why they resent so many trans men because their rhetoric directly flies in the face of nearly every trans mascs lived experiences (whether they realize it or not) so even trans mascs who agree with them sharing their lived experience is a threat to their ideology

nothing makes those with reactionary regressive politics more upset than being confronted with reality (especially when they cant find a way to rationalize away from it)

i need ppl to understand that even IF trans men hold any sort of privilege over trans women (and that's a big if) that it is way way way less than the privilege that cis men AND cis women have over ALL trans people and that arguing over whether Group A has it 1% worse than Group B or vice versa especially during the current political climate for trans people is insane behavior that ideally nobody should even entertain

it doesn't matter how many times you explain that trans men and mascs don't need to be explicitly mentioned in regressive legislation for them to be affected by said legislation, that they are largely swept in with "females" or "transgenderism" implicitly and that this lack of acknowledgement by these bills is intentional and part of the systemic issue of transmasculine invisibility which is exactly what makes it look like these bills don't affect us, because every time one of these bills actually passes there's always at least someone who has to bring up unprompted how this "proves" trans men have it easier
