once again pondering my 'if both of us are still single by the time we're 40' marriage pact buddie fic that ive written *checks doc* none of. it lives in my beautiful mind and nowhere else but just know that if it existed it would be really good.

sneak peak:

"Harry has a girlfriend." Buck says as he drops dramatically over the side of the couch and onto Eddie's legs where they're stretched out. Eddie yelps and pulls his legs back with a glare, but Buck meets it with a goofy grin and settles onto the now free half of the couch he's bullied his way onto. Eddie kicks his legs back out and pushes his boots into Buck's thigh over and over again until he slides over enough that Eddie can put his legs out again unimpeded.

Buck pulls a handful of caramel and cheddar popcorn out of the bag in his hand and starts throwing it haphazardly at Eddie's face. Eddie manages to catch about half of the pieces while dodging the other half and letting them fly behind him onto the floor of the loft. Chim is definitely putting them on sweeping duty if he finds out. Good thing there aren't any witnesses to their crimes up here right now. It's just the two of them, crammed onto one couch while every other seat in the loft sits empty. Eddie kicks Buck one more time for good measure. Buck swats at his boot with the bag of popcorn.

"Who is she?" Eddie says through a mouthful of white cheddar kernels. Buck throws one of the caramel pieces way wide and it pings of the coffee table. Eddie whines in protest, the caramel ones are his favorite and Buck knows that.

"Is the deal by the time you're 40 or by the time we both turn 40, because you're headed over that hill first, buddy." Eddie says dragging himself through his last pull up and lowering himself to the ground. His arms are sore, but he's not about to let Buck catch onto that.

Eddie steps back from the bar and motions for Buck to take his place. Buck swings his arms out wide and then back across his chest a few times, stretching out his muscles and pulling the fabric of his shirt tight over his pecs. He grabs the bar and hangs for a moment before levering himself up. Eddie watches his form closely, ready to disqualify a rep for any reason, or no reason at all.

"As long as it's a June wedding, I'm not picky." Buck says through gritted teeth. He hauls himself up into another pull up.

"Oh so you're planning the ceremony right away then, you're not even going to propose?"

"Well we're sort of already engaged if you think about it."

"Right, of course." Eddie has lost count of how many Buck has done. Buck's muscles glisten in the sun, sweaty and pumped as Buck flexes through another rep. Eddie feels a little dizzy, probably from the heat, he should drink some water.
