I’m making some little bio resources! They’re small little gems, and I’m making one (plus a mirrored image) for each colour in the colourwheel! I’ve now completed every colour! I may have accidentally skipped over one or two, I was getting intoa  rhythm and lost in my zone there so I wouldn’t be surprised if I just didn’t even notice some (I almost skipped saffron and sunset) so let me know if anything is missing!

Quick Flight Color Vision Headcanon

Dragons see the color of their Flights more vibrantly and saturated than other colors.

So Lightning and Water dragons would see blues in highly saturated tones and in tones we can’t see. Lightning has better ability to see paler/lighter blues closer to white while Water dragons can tell the difference between fine shades of dark blues to the point of black. Wind and Nature are the same with green.

Light dragons see yellows, Fire oranges, Plague red etc.

Basically dragon eyes filter specific light in the spectrum differently.

This leads dragons to seeing the world mostly in those colors. Wind dragons see more greens than other colors and other colors are more muted for them. Colors on the opposite side of the color wheel from their Flight colors are especially muted and dull. So Wind dragons have great difficulty seeing reds. Plague in turn has difficulty seeing green. Which would explain why the reds and greens are so BRIGHT and obnoxious in those respective Flights XD

There are three Flights that are not like that though. 

Ice, with their white eyes filter white light better than any other Flight. As such they have some of the best vision of any Flight. In their vision there is no muted color. Because they see with perfect white light they can also be easily overstimulated, which is why they live in a mostly colorless environment of the Icefields.

Earth, have an overall muted experience with color but not in the way you’d expect. They have a super accurate ability to tell fine shades apart from each other across many colors. Mainly in the warm range though, so brown, orange, red, yellow, while they see less gradation in the cool colors (purple, blue, green). As such their color pallets seem much more muted to other dragons (even Ice dragons) and what looks like a series of muted red colors, or even a single color, to other dragons will be a wide array of brights and darks to Earth dragons.

Arcane, they are completely color blind. They aren’t color blind like we are though. Because pink isn’t a ‘real’ color in the light spectrum their eyes filter above the visible light spectrum. So Arcane dragons see the world in ultra-violet and even into x-ray for some VERY RARE individuals. This leads their vision to being ‘pink’ tinged. They also have fantastic depth perception over all other dragons and contrast awareness.

Comments: These two will eventually become my "Gilded Bee" pair. The Filigree will be(e) Golden in color when it comes out. Mostly Reds, Pinks, and White-ish colors for the body and Green-Yellow ranges for the wings. Colors tend to be bright but cohesive. Most combos match well with light eyes.
