AH drama

Fuck you C with your hundreds of undercut listings. I was so excited to sell some vintage starsilks but it looks like you already got claws on those, so what’s the point even…

I had other stuff too that I would make money from. Every few days I’d get a couple hundred gems from a cat or corgi or parrot, or a lace piece, but slowly I’ve watched all my stomping grounds get swallowed up by these cheap items. I’ll find something with no cheaper listings and then in less than a month it’s swamped.

Stop. Undercutting.

I’ve got a page of rare items that aren’t gonna sell anytime soon now and I just want to cry. Sure they’d sell for MP price but why would I want to break even? What would be the point? I’d carved out this economical niche for myself and now people are trying to take it from me. I could have made hundreds of gems profit, but noooo I know it’s probably not targeting me but it’s just infuriating all the same

Sigh… I guess I could sell them for more treasure and try to convert it… But the ratios are terrible.

User-Made Chests

I will keep wanting this now and forever but so much I do would be slightly easier and more fun if users could place items into a special chest. When you mouse over it, it automatically generates a list of what is inside it and how many. 

Why is this useful?

1. Giftbombing - Pre-assemble gift packages so you can send them out during events!

2. Prizes - Got a raffle? Got tiers with groups of items? Put each into a chest so a user can see it is set aside and ready to be won!

3. Selling - Want to sell an outfit you assembled yourself? Want to include a skin with that? Want to sell a 3 pack of related skins at a discount on the AH?

I want this. Oh i want this. It would just allow for so many fun things for users to do!

I play Lioden and they had something similar like this called Goodie Bags. While its a good idea in theory, a lot of scamming via raffles and sales happened because players would lie about whats inside. Thankfully LD staff is good about helping and responding to scamming claims, but everyone knows FR staff don’t give two fucks.

A Guide to Naming Your Children

Let it be noted, “children” is a blanket term, it does not only refer to human children, but any creature that you claim parentship of that requires a name. 

Parenting is glorious, rewarding, painful, sleep-deprived, and sacrificial; and among all the things you will gift your child, a name is the first.

Names hold power, therefore, the first one is very important.

Caution: If you happen to know your child’s true name, in no way should you make it known to the public; do not say it aloud, do not write it out, in fact, I would suggest you get that bit of information professionally blocked (contact HGK477 for assistance).

True names can be used to bind their holder and it is never for good things.

So, my first piece of advice is to not rush.

They will not suffer without a name, but once you go forward, you cannot go back.

Until they are old enough to decide otherwise, they will be known by this name so it really better be good (and I promise you they will complain no matter what, that’s why you must be at peace with your choice, they’ll understand one day).

Of course, you can consider names before you meet your child but it’s so much better when you’ve gotten to know them a little, two weeks to a month is a fine amount to spend with them and learn; but, don’t feel rushed, you can never arrive late to this sort of decision.

During this learning time, consult the sun and the moon, the day and the night, the flowers, the fae, the seasons, the forest, the ocean, the wind, and the stars.

If you are pulled to a particular place, take your child with you.

Most parents name their children something they’ve always wanted, but listen, it isn’t really about you, they are an entire existence that belongs only to themselves and they will tell you who they are.

Pay attention to them, to what they do, to how they beg, to the time it takes for them to sleep.

If they breathe like the spring, read books about gardens.

If they howl like tornados, don’t shy away from the bluster.

If they laugh like glee is the most delicious thing they’ve ever eaten, take heart.

Embrace the power and gravity of this.

And when you’ve come to a decision, sleep on it, one, two, three nights.

Hold it in consideration and please don’t worry about other children making fun of it, children make fun of everything.

Teach your children to own what they’ve been gifted.
