So, here’s the t-shirt design i’ve been working on lately for a dear and talented friend of mine who was invited as an artist guest at a Tolkien convention that will be held in this days in southern italy (he is an AMAZING artisan and i’m in love with each of his wood works, here’s his FB page , go check him out)

“Medusa lamp”, wooden lamp born from the collaboration between me and the illustrator Bianca Roselli. We met  about five months ago and we  had in our mind the  idea  to express unique shapes through the natural beauty of wood and suggestion of light. So, in June, we created  the jellyfish with maple tentacles, floating on a flamed Amaranth wood support. The wood choice was not random, because we wanted to use typical jellyfish colour tones and, at the same time, we wanted to use the woods in their natural colors. The fine Amaranth wood (from South America) with its amazing  purple shades and very difficult to sculpt, was perfect for our purpose, because it created a great contrast with the white tones of maple. the finish is shellac wax, a fine natural wax that enhances the wood grain. The central axis is drilled to contain the electrical cables; the head is wood-turned and drilled following the design of a spiral galaxy. The lamp, when switched on, projects the spiral on the entire room, creating a magical atmosphere. Henfatafl, "King's table", an ancient board game from Northern Europe. The king's objective was to escape to the board's corners, while the greater force's objective was to capture him. This is entirely handmade in wood. The woods are fir wood fot the table, beech for the pieces. The king piece is made of olive wood. Available on my Etsy shop.
