Introductory Post

Hi! My name is [redacted], but you can call me Mod Andy, or just Andy for short.

I am a Democratic, religious (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints), cishet white male of European descent (Born-and-raised American, German ancestors).

I've come to Tumblr for three things: memes, a place to post my writings if/when I revive that old hobby, and news on current events. Do to my upbringing and religious beliefs, I do harbor a degree of internalized homophobia, internalized transphobia, and a lack of understanding for modern gender rules. However, I'm also a firm believer that we are all sons and daughters of God, and that we must not allow such trivial feelings to tarnish our relationships with our fellow man. I am ashamed of my internalized bigotry, and seek to one day be rid of it. In the meantime, I have made sure to keep it in my head, and far from my social life. I understand if I lose followers because of this, but I feel like it must be said.

All good things take time.

I saw the finale when it first hit theaters, and I honestly am so happy I did. It was an unforgettable experience.

I do think abstractions can be interpreted as different situations/experiences, this comic reflecting one idea where the abstracted can eventually find their ways back to a tangible, defined body. Not the same one as before, no. They're forever changed after this. It'll be different. Familiar, but different. The interpretation, in the end, is up to the viewer. Whichever one brings them the things they need in the moment.

This comic isn't necessarily what I want to be "canon", but it was something that made me tear up a bit as I gave it some thought.

I was going to color this fully, but I decided to stick to my original plans of keeping limited colors/just values. TADC greatly inspired me to go back to my original work and try to get my own stories out there, and I...well...can't say it. ADHD (alleged) doesn't like me making plans lol I just gotta GO for it haha, but you might be able to fill in the blanks.

I also saw people using Leeroy's emo hair for their transfem Jax designs and thought to myself "the shapes are a bit similar to the abstractions."

It’s in Brussels, Belgium and we have a description we can find. I then did the only logical next step and looked through the Google Maps community submitted photos for every hospital in the area. The logo on the sign in the background of the image can be found on a couple but nothing was a match. The one I felt best about was in the news about some kind of remodel tho so I started reading articles about that. I stumbled on this one and this part caught my eye (translated)

It was at this point I realized it was talking about a different hospital and wouldn’t ya’knoe

That’s some color theory. Not confirmed quite yet tho, so I went back to the reddit post. On the 8th page of replies

Unironically I think the early to mid 20s age group in America has unbelievably bad consent boundaries on all levels and so much language to defend it but this makes me sound like elon musk if I say it however the commonality of someone who will be like “I had 47 panic attacks and it’s your fault” if you tell them no is insane

When I was in this age bracket, there was a huge emphasis on improving consent culture via graceful rejection, and it's gone by the wayside. Which sucks.

Twice in my youth (once in high school and once in college) I was in situations where I was asking someone out and I could tell they were calculating in their heads the risks of rejecting me, and both times I said, out loud, "you can say no, I wouldn't have asked if I wasn't prepared for either answer." And then they said no. This wasn't some spark of special wisdom I had - I knew to do it because feminist conversations among my age group brought it up regularly. This isn't happening nearly enough anymore.

More recently, I was really glad when we got to "rejection sensitive dysphoria" in my IOP program and it was one of those symptoms where the therapists really emphasized how it affects others. Because it does.

Being someone who cannot handle rejection makes you much more likely to violate boundaries, and yes, that includes sexual ones. Yes, you, reader who has never hurt a fly. If you don't want to stumble backwards into sexually assaulting someone, fix your RSD meltdowns. If you keep them up it's only a matter of time. Because if you're nice enough to interact with, but are known to have RSD meltdowns, guess what happens when your friends and acquaintances need to reject you?
