She stumbled back surprised. “Oh. No. Your ok.” She told him, looking up at the handsome stranger. “I should have been more aware.”

“No, no, it was my mistake and I apologize. Sure, you are okay?” Cam asked again, a frown etched on his features. Se looked kind of shocked, so he really wanted to make sure. “You look lost. Everything okay? Don’t mind to overstep boundaries but you know...” He shrugged, quite helpless how to put what he was meaning into actual words and not come of as stalkerish.

Upon hearing those words, Cam turned around. “Hey there. Sure, I can try. Where do you want to go? When I moved into the city I got lost too in the beginning, so I’ll try my best to give you the right directions.”

One day he would get used to going out, having a drink in a bar and make new friends. Today was not this day but that had not stopped Valerie to insist he should get out anyway and finally found someone to belong to. So here he was, alone and trying to make conversation with at least one person. Yet most seemed repelled by his shyness and he got nothing more than a few nods and smiles more pitiful than everything else. 

Having enough he turned around and got up from his barstool, almost crashing into another person. “Oh my god, I’m sorry! Did I hurt you?” He asked alarmed while he checked her for any wounds or something. Being a werewolf meant he was stronger than other persons, so this was a valid question.

Living in a big city meant constantly having to arrange yourself with new scents, events, and sounds. It meant learning how to figure out what could be harmful and what was simply usual city stuff. And Cam liked to think he got a hang of it. Sure, there were some bumps in the road, but overall, he learned it quite well. 

And that’s why when he caught whiff of another shifter, he was thrown off guard. Had he been on a run in the park, he stopped in his tracks and squinted his eyes, focusing on the other. “You’re not a mortal.” Cam stated, not as an attack but as a fact. Now he was curious how the other would react.
