When i was in high school, I was a music geek and invited my friends to my concerts/recitals because, y’know, why not, just seemed polite... One of my friends yelled at me and told me that it was just an annoyance and a bother to everyone.

I went on to get a music performance degree and have been a featured soloist in my symphony, but because of what this friend told me years ago, I rarely invite anyone to watch any of my concerts, because I don’t want to be annoying to them. Don’t call people annoying; it could stick with them for years.

Us nerds think the viewing order of the Star Wars movies is easy, but get this...

A couple we’re friends with had never seen ANY of it, and we were horrified. Like you HAVE to watch Star Wars! It’s essential pop/nerd culture. So we tell them the standard shit, like, you gotta watch movie #4 first, and so on and so forth. We go to their house a few weeks later and they say they got the movie and suggested we watch it. Turns out they’d gotten “rogue one” by accident because they saw ONE in the title and thought it was the first one, and then turns out ep 4 wasn’t available on netflix so we were like FML and watched Fellowship of the Ring instead.

So I just saw a video where a husband fills his wife’s car with cement because he didn’t like that she changed her name to earn extra money.

The amount of men who think that criminal property damage and depriving someone of their transportation is justified because the husband’s feelings were hurt and the wife should’ve been more considerate really freaks me out.

How is that an offensive headline? If you click the link and read the story, her name is mentioned multiple times. I suspect they call her “New Jersey Teen” because it is published on a Chicago, IL news site, so it is a priority to clarify when stories are not in-state. The same site did a similar thing to another similar story about a Californian student too, y’know. If you look at other stories on the same site, you’ll see that they often don’t name people in headlines, unless they are already well-known celebrities or politicians...

  I’ve said this before and I’ll point it out again - 

Menstruation is caused by change in hormonal levels to stop the creation of a uterine lining and encourage the body to flush the lining out. The body does this by lowering estrogen levels and raising testosterone. 

Or, to put it more plainly “That time of the month” is when female hormones most closely resemble male hormones. So if (cis) women aren’t suited to office at “That time of the month” then (cis) men are NEVER suited to office.

If you are a dude and don’t dig the ladies around you at their time of the month, just think! That is you all of the time. 

And, on a final note, post-menopausal (cis) women are the most hormonally stable of all human demographics. They have fewer hormonal fluctuations of anyone, meaning older women like Hilary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren would theoretically be among the least likely candidates to make an irrational decision due to hormonal fluctuations, and if we were basing our leadership decisions on hormone levels, then only women over fifty should ever be allowed to hold office.

heres a few ideas: -correct people if they misgender someone (famous or a friend) and don’t let it go when they say “whatever you know what i mean” -don’t buy into cis white womens movements like “pussy grabs back” -everyone needs to stop saying shit about penis size making someone more or less of a man -if you dont know someones pronouns ask or just simply use they/them until you know -support businesses owned by transgender people (or trans bands!) -normalize being trans dont make it some taboo -never say shit like “oh theyre like caitlyn jenner!” -stand up for trans people online or in real situations -don’t out someone. before meeting a trans persons friends or family ask them who knows -donate to trans peoples kickstarters if you can

-don’t ask about a person’s deadname/genitalia - When you’re speaking about a trans person before they came out it is still not ok to deadname or misgender them! -be aware and self-critical of ways in which you might still enforce transphobic ideas (ie: calling menstrual products “feminine hygiene products” or using “men” and “women” when you really mean people with certain body parts/physical characteristics) -be aware and self-critical of ways in which you might still enforce the gender binary through your language - get in the habit of using neutral language for anyone you don’t know even when they don’t “look trans”

I started my day of work with our usual morning meeting. The topic the higher ups gave our managers was preventing the spread of illness. One of the things they said was if you are sick stay at home. I found this ironic as I had come down with a cold the night before and it was worse today. So I stuck it out till lunch but at that point felt like death so I told my manager I needed to go home. She said she needed me to try really really hard to get through the day because there was no one to take my place. I ended up crying for the first part of my lunch break cuz I felt so horrible. So I had to push through the day spreading my germs and they finally let me go home twenty minutes early because I had hit quota. Apparently numbers are more important than the staff.

Tl/Dr: Stay home if your sick only applies to those that have someone to take over.
