âAt this point Iâve kind of accepted that itâs gonna be one thing after another.â
âone thing is fine but a multiversal hole is not. iâm guessing they didnât get the memo that weâre busy.â

âI was about two seconds away from just breaking the damn thing,â Felicia insisted, although she was appreciative of the help as she grabbed her snack from the dispenser. She paused to pull out a couple bucks from her pocket and handed it to the redhead. âHere. Buy yourself something tasty and terrible for you.â
it seemed like tempting fate to try again, but hope was hopeful ( ha ha ) that she had gone back far enough to the point where it would have a few dispenses before it broke again. she gratefully inserted the money and hit the buttons to cause the goldfish to fall. âthanks. i need to remember to eat on the island before i leave.â
ladylckisâ:
âYou and everyone else Iâve seemed to ask.â
âi think my generation is supposed to be good at it. iâm just not. i had a weird childhood.â weird as in she had been raised in an apocalyptic future by a grizzled old mutant.
medusaliithsâ:
âI wonât needlessly put my people in harmâs way.â
âeven if you arenât doing it needlessly, it still happens. itâs inevitable. from what iâve seen, things havenât been good for you guys in a long time.â
medusaliithsâ:
âSorry to disturb your sleeping, I was supposed to be meeting with Professor Xavier and some of the Council.â
âitâs what i get for sleeping in front of a Gate.â hope stretched her back out before rising from her chair. âtheyâll be here soon. iâd let you through, but you canât cross a gate unless youâre a mutant. it wonât work.â
bcrtonhawkâ:
âSorry to bother you, Hope. I just wanted to check in with Emma on the whole Hellfire Gala thing. I didnât know if weâre supposed to RSVP or something.â
âand you think iâm emmaâs secretary? we donât actually talk unless she needs something.â hope tried to rub the sleep from her eyes. âyouâd need kate for that. pryde and emma are tight. the cuckoos are probably your best bet after emma, of course. theyâve been doing all the secret planning with her.â
xmoonsilkâ:
âJust wondering how you guys were holding up, I guess. I, uh.. I heard about Captain Britain. Iâm really sorry.â
hope paused, measuring her next words. âbetsy. right. people thought she was dead. the situation wasnât good, but sheâs okay.â it was a partial lie. betsy was fine; her death was real but something to be kept secret. the news never should have leaked in the first place. âweâre all very relieved.âÂ
medusaliithsâ:
âIâm afraid things only appear to be getting worse.â
âweâre prepared to handle death on our end. are you?â
bcrtonhawkâ:
âItâs not really my problem if someoneâs going through my stuff without asking and gets themselves blown up. But no, Iâm not trying to kill people. Not good people.â
âitâs called childproofing. iâm pretty sure iâve seen your stuff lying everywhere. nathan would never have done that.â
druiigsâ:
âit wasnât a cult, alright? it was - more of a, uh - a commune.â
âyou were definitely running a cult.â
pixelated-peterâ:
âWell, itâs a sandwich. Not as nice as night-pizza on a rooftop butâ food is food.â
âiâve seen a sandwich before. not in a minute, though. the resurrections are off the chart.â
blackniightâ:
âyou see, history is much more fascinating than youâd expect it to be.â
âi was raised in a post apocalyptic future. my history was your present, and we didnât teach it.â
mahdthenaâ:
âThat look in your eyesâ I know what it means. I see it everywhere I go. You want to ask me something, yet you hesitate. Why? Are you afraid I might hurt you?â
âiâve been resurrecting people for seven days straight. iâm exhausted.â hopeâs eyes narrowed. ânot big into fear. my dad was pretty big on the you can face anything mindset.âÂ
xironxmanxâ:
âNope, stop right there. Before you say anythingâ this is just as confusing for me as it is for you. Scratch thatâ this is way more confusing for me. So just- donât say anything stupid, alright?â
âiâm used to resurrection, but only our own. itâs weird to see someone that we didnât bring back.â
magnetiikâ:
âI presume youâre here for a reason?â
âthe five have been resurrecting for a week straight. we need to discuss clone protocols.âÂ
summrsâ:
âUnless you want to meet your maker, I suggest you move.â
âgeez, nathan.â hope ducked and rolled out of the way, her own gun tucked against her body. âi know iâm rusty because iâve been focusing on the five stuff, but at least give me a chance to be glad youâre back before you blow my brains out.â
soldatslavâ:
âhi, iâm bucky. i have one arm ââ is that too forward?â
âmy dad had one arm, actually. the other was always metal. itâs the one i liked to hold. it was how i knew it was him and not someone else.â
