“one thing is fine but a multiversal hole is not. i’m guessing they didn’t get the memo that we’re busy.”
hardycat:
“I was about two seconds away from just breaking the damn thing,” Felicia insisted, although she was appreciative of the help as she grabbed her snack from the dispenser. She paused to pull out a couple bucks from her pocket and handed it to the redhead. “Here. Buy yourself something tasty and terrible for you.”
it seemed like tempting fate to try again, but hope was hopeful ( ha ha ) that she had gone back far enough to the point where it would have a few dispenses before it broke again. she gratefully inserted the money and hit the buttons to cause the goldfish to fall. “thanks. i need to remember to eat on the island before i leave.”
ladylckis:
“You and everyone else I’ve seemed to ask.”
“i think my generation is supposed to be good at it. i’m just not. i had a weird childhood.” weird as in she had been raised in an apocalyptic future by a grizzled old mutant.
medusaliiths:
“I won’t needlessly put my people in harm’s way.”
“even if you aren’t doing it needlessly, it still happens. it’s inevitable. from what i’ve seen, things haven’t been good for you guys in a long time.”
medusaliiths:
“Sorry to disturb your sleeping, I was supposed to be meeting with Professor Xavier and some of the Council.”
“it’s what i get for sleeping in front of a Gate.” hope stretched her back out before rising from her chair. “they’ll be here soon. i’d let you through, but you can’t cross a gate unless you’re a mutant. it won’t work.”
bcrtonhawk:
“Sorry to bother you, Hope. I just wanted to check in with Emma on the whole Hellfire Gala thing. I didn’t know if we’re supposed to RSVP or something.”
“and you think i’m emma’s secretary? we don’t actually talk unless she needs something.” hope tried to rub the sleep from her eyes. “you’d need kate for that. pryde and emma are tight. the cuckoos are probably your best bet after emma, of course. they’ve been doing all the secret planning with her.”
xmoonsilk:
“Just wondering how you guys were holding up, I guess. I, uh.. I heard about Captain Britain. I’m really sorry.”
hope paused, measuring her next words. “betsy. right. people thought she was dead. the situation wasn’t good, but she’s okay.” it was a partial lie. betsy was fine; her death was real but something to be kept secret. the news never should have leaked in the first place. “we’re all very relieved.”
medusaliiths:
“I’m afraid things only appear to be getting worse.”
“we’re prepared to handle death on our end. are you?”
bcrtonhawk:
“It’s not really my problem if someone’s going through my stuff without asking and gets themselves blown up. But no, I’m not trying to kill people. Not good people.”
“it’s called childproofing. i’m pretty sure i’ve seen your stuff lying everywhere. nathan would never have done that.”
druiigs:
“it wasn’t a cult, alright? it was - more of a, uh - a commune.”
“you were definitely running a cult.”
pixelated-peter:
“Well, it’s a sandwich. Not as nice as night-pizza on a rooftop but— food is food.”
“i’ve seen a sandwich before. not in a minute, though. the resurrections are off the chart.”
blackniight:
“you see, history is much more fascinating than you’d expect it to be.”
“i was raised in a post apocalyptic future. my history was your present, and we didn’t teach it.”
mahdthena:
“That look in your eyes— I know what it means. I see it everywhere I go. You want to ask me something, yet you hesitate. Why? Are you afraid I might hurt you?”
“i’ve been resurrecting people for seven days straight. i’m exhausted.” hope’s eyes narrowed. “not big into fear. my dad was pretty big on the you can face anything mindset.”
xironxmanx:
“Nope, stop right there. Before you say anything— this is just as confusing for me as it is for you. Scratch that— this is way more confusing for me. So just- don’t say anything stupid, alright?”
“i’m used to resurrection, but only our own. it’s weird to see someone that we didn’t bring back.”
magnetiik:
“I presume you’re here for a reason?”
“the five have been resurrecting for a week straight. we need to discuss clone protocols.”
summrs:
“Unless you want to meet your maker, I suggest you move.”
“geez, nathan.” hope ducked and rolled out of the way, her own gun tucked against her body. “i know i’m rusty because i’ve been focusing on the five stuff, but at least give me a chance to be glad you’re back before you blow my brains out.”
soldatslav:
“hi, i’m bucky. i have one arm –– is that too forward?”
“my dad had one arm, actually. the other was always metal. it’s the one i liked to hold. it was how i knew it was him and not someone else.”
