“dude who’s nettspend?” you said, half of your body leaning off the couch in xavier’s studio.
he let out a scoff-laugh, “one of my homeboys, he makes music too, you didn’t meet him on my last tour in texas?”
you lay your arm out, getting your phone out of sight and you squint your eyes at the ceiling trying to remember, “mm i don’t think so. i didn’t go to the texas one, i had a modeling thing.”
“wait. he’s mazzy’s boyfriend? gunner?” you knew mazzy through connections and grew pretty close to her up until early last year, you moved away and stopped seeing her as much, so you didn’t know too much about her personal life anymore.
“yeah,” he let out a breath, “was. they broke up a while ago, she cheated.”
“what? really? why?” you say shocked, the mazzy you knew would’ve never done anyone wrong.
he shrugs, “i dunno, i wasn’t there. he just told me last time i saw him.”
you sit in silence for a bit until xavier speaks up, “but yeah he’s cool though. i saw he liked your post.” you can hear the smirk even though he’s turned around, writing.
“shut up. did he say anything about me to you?” you pause, “i mean not that i’m interested in him, just interested if he’s talking about me, y’know,”
xavier cuts you off, “nah he didn’t say nun, and it’s cool, you ain’t gotta get all defensive.” he laughs.
“i’m not getting defensive! i just..” you stop yourself knowing he’s right, “whatever. what’re you working on?”
“same shit as earlier. just tryna get the lyrics right.”
“boringgg, we’ve been here for hours.” you finally stand up and make your way towards him.
“you were the one who wanted to come, you can leave whenever.” he shrugs playfully.
“hey. i’m only here because hannah’s with her family on vacation.” you nudge him slightly, “and we know you don’t like to be alone.” you frown.
“we’ll go out and do sum later, gimmie like an hour at least.”
you finally back off, going back to your couch spot and scrolling through social media. you find yourself in a mini rabbit hole of nettspend.
you read one twitter post to yourself in your head, “nettspend signed to grade A productions, the same team that signed juice wrld, kid laroi, and many others. they are known for spotting young talent early and making them big.”
you hum to yourself, scorlling the comments, just regular fan comments until you see some about you.
“him and y/n would break the internet”, “she’s so pretty he needs to make a move already”, and “she better not fumble like mazzy” you furrowed your eyebrows, it was one post he liked. you didn’t expect everyone to be so quick or to make rumors already.
you heard a laptop close, meaning xavier was done, you quickly exited out twitter and instagram, turning your phone off.
“finally.” you stretch like it’s your first time ever
“you’re so dramatic, where you tryna go?”
you instantly shrug, “i was hoping you’d have somewhere in mind.”
“les go to a rave, there’s a couple happening right now.” he pulls out his phone to check where.
“dammit, i didn’t bring clothes for a rave.” you cross your arms.
“jus borrow sum of hannah’s, i’m sure she’ll let you, this one starts in like an hour.” he shows you his phone, the bright poser making you readjust your eyes.
“fine, i’ll text her, but we better get going because you take forever to get ready.”
he drives you back to his place where you change and get ready, half an hour goes by and he’s still not done getting dressed.
“xavierrrrr.” you groan.
“i jus dunno which belt to choose.”
you side eye him hard, “really? you’ve spent ten minutes deciding what belt to choose?”
“what? i like them both.” he does that stupid little puppy dog face he always does when he wants you to feel bad for him, it’s impossible not to feel guilty when he does it.
“the pink and white one, now shut up and let’s go.”
you two spent the rest of the night raving, after that you went out to eat some canes, it was now around 3 am.
“my feet are killing me.” you complain while leaning against his car.
“your feet? i was the one carrying you the whole night, my fucking neck bro.”
you two laughed and ate the rest of the food in the good kind of silence.
“hey xav.” you say softly after throwing your trash away.
“what’s up?” he raises his eyebrows while turning on his car.
“i was snooping around earlier and saw shit about the nettspend kid, you think he actually likes me?” you say honest, the only time you’re this honest is when you’re high or almost blackout drunk.
“y/n you’re just high.” he nods his head.
“no, i’m, well i am high, but i’m serious.” you try to look at him, your eyes were low and glossy.
“man i dunno, he’s not one for relationships, he’s kinda just a “let’s fuck a couple times and never see eachother again” type.” he shrugs softly while stopping at a red light.
you were never one for relationships, you had one relationship in middle school that lasted till your freshman year of highschool. he cheated on you with your bestfriend and you never dated or trusted any guy after that, it’s been 3 years.
“i know you’re not one for relationships either, but even if you managed to tie him down or whatever, he’d still cheat.”
you don’t say anything, you only nod slowly, you knew he was only saying the truth to protect you because he’d never speak ill of his friends, especially guy friends unless it was serious.
you drifted off to sleep, and woke up the next morning in xavier’s room, you stretched, got up, and found him sleeping on the couch with the blanket on the ground.
you picked his blanket back up and draped it over him, going back to his room and on your phone.
