Honey, I Shrunk the Feliks
Backstory: A offish child in his school life, Gupta was known to be the best of the best, yet rare to shine personally in the spotlight of highschool idol ship. When graduation came about he gave himself a name not so much in the city but in places like national parks for nature reserves, following what suited his power the most (Hint he always loved the ocean but seems to have an inner conflict on the manner). Being a man of constant mystery we find our hero for some reason back within the city. What must be afoot to take him out of earth element, certainly not for a long lost reunion?

Ha Ha AHAHAH this is great!
It’s amazing how the city has transformed in the last ten to fifteen years. #Katowice’s city centre and the Rawa river. 📸 @gdziezjescnaslasku #katowicerynek #travelslow #travelsmart #travelguide #katowiceinyourpocket #polandinyourpocket #Katowice101 #visitkatowice #visitpoland #polandexperience #travelpoland #traveleurope #sląsk #silesiatravel #kochamkatowice #putthephonedown #sightseeing #lovetotravel
An interesting thread about the discursive function of “waslike”.
Technically speaking, I wouldn’t say that this construction is really a compound verb “waslike”, because it still conjugates like you’d normally conjugate the verb “to be”. (I’m like, you’re like, s/he’s like; I was like, you were like, s/he was like - not I waslike, you waslike, s/he waslikes.)
The linguistic term for it is quotative “like” and there have been several academic papers about it, including this early one from 1990 and this extensive survey of functions of “like” by Alexandra D’Arcy.

living in the countryside really strikes the fear of god into you at the most random moments. you’ll just make eye contact with a cow or stare for too long into a brook and all of a sudden you’ll think something like “these are old bones and i am merely a passing occupant” and then you have to go and put the kettle on to cope
