they're both so antsy for shooting to start back up and jacob is giving them the full spread of emotions to go through first day like he did back in season one so ultimately they're doing some kind of intimacy on the first day. at this point they've definitely gone through the sex scenes in the script enough so they're comfortable and know what to expect and while theyre hanging out the night before shooting starts, just a fun little dinner, they decide to head to one of each others place to reminisce a little and hudson makes a joke about how perfect their first on-screen kiss went that he's a little nervous he's gonna flub it tomorrow. and connor is just so bluntly going "you're fucking with me right?" as if these two aren't mouth kissing every time they reunite anyways. both of them are already a little buzzed and connor is pouting at hudson very mockingly, going "oh, do you wanna practice? will that make you feel better?" and hudson is chewing on his bottom lip and nodding.

it should not escalate the way it does but connor initiates like he's possessed by the spirit of ilya and grips hudson's face before kissing him with no intention of dragging this out. they want to believe they're doing this for the sake of character work but all they can think about is how much they can't escape this part of it all, that even through the played up intimacy there was still touches of them underneath that they recognized so well. connor knows what a shane kiss is like and this is not that at all, hudson is a little more wild with it. tilting his head and pushing into connor, chasing after a mouth that wasn't going anywhere but hudson is just so eager to give connor everything he has to offer. he knows their dynamic has changed character-wise, that shane doesn't have to be so constricted with his desire anymore. and part of that scares him, connor too. because even with this kiss that should be strictly rehearsal, feels a lot more of a blur between their art and how they care for each other personally.

"is that good enough?" connor would ask when buzz in his head started to fade, feeling much more sober than before. and hudson looking a little disappointed, wiping his bottom lip with his thumb as he pulled back to sit down, not realizing he was nearly about to climb into connor's lap. and they stare at each other for so fucking long. it never gets weird or awkward or tense. it wasn't like that for them. and connor is tilting his head slightly, a smile stretching across his face as hudson laughs, a sort of breathy sound, "do you wanna do it some more?" he asks and hudson wouldn't even hesitate.

if they mess up the kiss scene the next day just to stretch the filming out a little bit longer and have to do repeat takes well, they were totally fine with that
