lowkey not even just the fact stan dealt with a snowstorm in just an old jacket but also the fact he survived a burn that he straight up ignored for weeks in said snowstorm in poor health while malnutritioned like ok. how did he not die of sepsis. stan's body gets ravaged by an evil several-day-long infection-caused shutdown and he's puking and he's sweating and he's immobile and he's dying and then he just Gets up a few days later and goes back to dealing with the portal. Ok???? How are you alive

i can't get over him lying directly on his wound and never bandaging it???? him depriving himself the chance to properly heal from the experience...

and the fact that the only thing he decides to buy to ward off starvation being a single loaf of bread???

i can imagine his brand getting infected and him being too weak to get to the lab... but deciding to force himself to study anyway cos he has to do something-- he's just running off pure determination, guilt and coffee at that point 😭

but yeah stan literally shoving those horrible first few weeks into that room and quickly hiding it behind a bookshelf (likely avoiding that section of the house as much as possible) vs stan taking his time to properly seal up the wax statue room in headhunters is something i'm always obsessed with

+ i completely forgot about the giant mirror that's in the room too 😭😭😭 did stan feel like he was being mocked by it the entire time???

+ also i just noticed the portal page not being as damaged right after the portal incident, meaning it got roughed up during the first few weeks from stan trying to understand it....

ok every time this post comes by i resist geeking out on it but NO LONGER so these women are probably the same woman and that woman is monet’s wife camille doncieux. he painted her a LOT. but fun fact: monet had this asshole friend named ernest hochede, and ernest racked up some debts, and like an asshole he basically just fled the country, leaving his wife alice and their six kiddos behind. monet immediately got alice and kids to move in with him, camille, and their two kids. at this point, monet, alice, and camille became my favorite probably historic poly threesome. they lived together, taking care of the kids. they were so poor that alice and camille took turns wearing the nice dress so they could go out with monet. when camille got uterine cancer and began dying, alice helped monet cope and took care of things while he painted camille over and over. when camille died, alice is the reason monet was able to survive. when ernest finally died, monet and alice married, and remained married until alice died. at that point, blanche, the oldest daughter, took care of monet until he died. anyway, the point is, the umbrella ladies are probably the same ladies, but as far as i’m concerned, there WAS a historically queer poly family in that household and they were wonderful.

The blue cupcake actually makes me so emo. Everything about it. In the lead up to this moment they are quite literally on Olympus getting rewards, they are burning bodies of their dead friends, they are getting a new Oracle, etc etc. They are so busy that Percy legitimately has no idea what she’s talking about when she says “happy birthday.” But she didn’t forget! She didn’t forget and she recruited Tyson to help her bake something BLUE in a callback to childhood innocence. The softness and the kindness and the premeditation of it all. Annabeth Chase they do not understand you!!!!!
