Just walked this pretty baby!
Waking up so sore and not wanting to work. Then there they are. Dogs. I'm alive again ready to do thisss
Oh my god. I'm so tired did 3 walks today and it's 109...and I went to go grab another. Haha why.
Just got done walking this baby! Cool morning today. Phew
Honestly. Yesterday was 109 degrees and owners want me to walk their dogs the hottest time of the day. I understand it's time for them but I'm stopping in the shade every 5 minutes to water them, trying to keep them off the street and having to run across pavement. Water water water. Please think of your dogs 😭
Too hot for this pup!

What it's like being a dog walker with other jobs
So I used to work 5 jobs while trying to manage dog walking and meet n greets with owners. It was extremely hard to manage and I was exhausted last winter trying to walk 10-15 dogs in one day on top of everything else. (All different owners and houses to drive to) Well, I quit everything but 2 last month and I'm with wag and rover. It's much easier and I'm getting to meet more furry friends with less stress. Well. Here's what it's like being a dog walker. First. When you first start being a dog walker say you go with an app. There are many. I just started with wag so I'll fill you in on how that's been. I'm on week 2. Mmm. First week was frustrating because clients will request their dog with someone who has more clientele than me a first timer on this app. Cool. I missed about 30 dogs because of this. I didn't get 1 dog until my 5th or 6th day. Like I had my phone in hand ready to go almost 24 hours a day. My phone would go off And within a SECOND of opening the app they'd be booked already. Damn. I'm tryin here. Well I got booked. YES. I go. Forget my water, it's 108 and the walk is an hour. 45 minutes I'm dying I feel so bad for the dog and we get back and I immediately sink in relief. I get re-booked yayy. Brought a water, get another rebook, getting 5 star reviews Everytime and tips oh my god. I request a recurring dog walk. I get booked for the next 3 months. 🎉🎉🎉 This was yesterday. Persistence is key. Being a dog walker is exhausting. Bring a bottle of water, bring a backpack with things for You and the dog(s). You must maintain professionalism. Owners are very particular about their dogs. You might feel like it's just a walk, but they could be watching your every move also. Which is nerve racking. If you happen to pull the leash in a odd manner the owner or someone might see this and think you're hurting them when in fact it's not the case at all. You might've been trying to lead them elsewhere And they didn't have a lead harness on and it's a little harder to get them to move with you etc... You can go from having the best day to a dog getting loose and the owner loosing their shit and you. Which is completely understandable. In any case it's important to be the best dog walker you can Everytime. Constant education for yourself is important as well. Harnesses, areas walking in, dog types and their behaviors. Example...pugs! Pugs should not be walked for more than 20 minutes without a rest or completely stopping. They have breathing issues as it is. With head and other things can cause then more issues. Or long haired dogs should not be walked in extreme heats unless they are shaved or it is in the morning or late at night. So much to know! Common sense will save you in many situations. It is exhausting and rewarding!
forget it I’ll do it myself
