Koe and I decided to stop being active on this blog. The recent “hate activities” are just way too much for us. A lot of friends that are on tumblr as well received so much hate, because of literally everything they post. Some members were also driven to attempt suicide of the flood of hate. It’s so sick that someone who is just a fan of something is treated as a monster or worse. For us, tumblr was a place to post our stuff and enjoy the feedback, but now we’re almost scared to upload our stuff, because we COULD HAVE PISSED SOMEONE off.
Sadly tumblr has become a huge bunch of asses (not everyone, we know that), a ‘call out culture’ thorwing death threats at every cosplayer using skin color to look more like the character they want to cosplay. IT’S STUPID. AND IT’S WRONG! BECAUSE IT’S NOT RACIST TO COSPLAY A CHARACTER WITH AN OTHER SKIN COLOR THAN YOU HAVE!
It’s admiring the character and trying to be like that specific character as best as you can.
And that’s why Koe and i decided that we have enough of that shit. We’ll be cosplaying characters with darker skin and characters with lighter skin than our original skin color, because we like the characters the way they are. We don’t want to whitewash them or make them darker for whatever reason there might be.
