Thanks to @fit_fun_ali for keeping me accountable after I fell off the wagon recently, your tag helped encourage me to go run today! Here's a during and #postworkoutselfie for all, tagged ladies hit me up with some 🔥 selfies. P.S. it's really hot outside still here in AZ, thus tomato face 😥 #bbg #sundaysun #sweatwithkayla #azbbg (at Papago Park)
🙇💫💛💜🌌🍃🌐 I saw this on @lululemon ’s Snapchat a while back and it really helps me focus when I need to come back down to what really matters. I have a big week coming up, and this mindfulness is so important to me! (at Phoenix, Arizona)
Happy Saturday fit friends 🙂 my bae is finally home, so of course we woke up early and went for a hike. A few people stopped us and asked where my shirt was from for friends and relatives, @vegangstastyle thanks for the threads! 😍I love it, so soft and comfy and cute af. Enjoy the weekend everyone, spread some love today! 💛💫 (at "A" Mountain at ASU Hayden Butte Preserve)
This is my "eh... win some lose some" face. Today was hard. I restarted bbg 1.0 with my fav bbg sister Claudia since she's finally back from her summer internship, but I can't get past the fact today that my heart is not functioning correctly. My heart rate was above 180 almost immediately and refused to go down until now... 30 minutes later. Still, it's day 1, and I will try to make up for it on days that I feel good. Going to keep fueling my body with good food and taking care of my health first. Xoxo. Love and light. 💛💫💙🌐
Hi friends. A little arm progress. I felt really good about it this morning, and now I'm struggling with my heart disease 🙁 every once in a while, it rears its ugly head and keeps me from doing things I wanna do, like hike amazing trails and go to amazing places. I'm down. I always believed I could do whatever I wanted, and sometimes that just isn't true. Sending you all the most love and light that I can from my sad lil heart. 💛💫
noelshiveley: I’m saying this from the little experience I have, trust me.
REBLOG THIS IF YOU’RE VEGAN!
Wanna follow all my fellow compassionate friends :)
Imma keep runnin' cuz a winner don't quit on themselves 👊 A little Beyonce inspiration today because I went running for the first time in a while. It wasn't far or anything tbh, but it was refreshing and terrible all at once. You can tell by the sweat stain around my neck 😂 Happy Sunday #fitfam , I'm gonna restart bbg 1.0 tomorrow!
Like it or not, plants are also living organisms that respond to stimuli like light, gravity and touch. In fact, some groups even believe plants can feel pain. Take the Ethics Committee on Non-Human Biotechnology, for instance. This Swiss group recently came out in defense of our leafy green friends in a report on “the dignity of the creature in the plant world.” They argued that plants deserve respect and that killing them arbitrarily is morally wrong.
I hate to break it to you but nothing you are saying is in any way new to me, or to any well informed vegan. Plants are obviously a living organism and do respond to stimuli, this has been known for quite a long time. Plants do however, lack sentience. They do not have a central nervous system or a brain to process a pain response, and so sentience is not possible. Animal sentience is the reason we don’t eat them, not the fact that animals respond to stimuli.
Of course plants shouldn’t be killed arbitrarily- have you ever heard me argue that they should? Ignoring for a moment the fact that plants grow back, killing animals is arbitrary because it is unnecessary. Humans can thrive without eating animals. We cannot even survive without killing plants and that is the polar opposite of arbitrary. You can only be held morally responsible for actions you choose; for the vast majority of people using animals is a choice. Using plants is obligatory for everyone.
But you know what, I’ll be really generous and ignore the fact that the vast majority of biologists don’t even entertain the notion of plant sentience but are unified in agreement that at least some animals are sentient. Lets suspend rational thought and say that all plants are sentient, despite the evidence to the contrary. Let’s descend even further into the depths of irrationality to try to make your baseless argument work and accept that plants are even more sentient than animals are, which would be the only legitimate justification for choosing to eat animals instead of plants. We are now in a situation where ethically speaking we need to reduce the amount of plants our diet requires as much as we can; this is the logical conclusion of your argument. But do you know what is the most effective way to reduce the amount of plants your diet requires? Going vegan.
You see, we feed considerably more plants to farmed animals than we ever eat ourselves and livestock take in far more calories in crop feed than they will ever give out in meat, meaning your average carnist’s diet requires significantly more plant “suffering” than a vegan’s does. This is the reason most of our soy, corn and wheat goes to livestock rather than the 795 million humans who are chronically undernourished . So even if you did manage to prove your unlikely premises to be true, the conclusion would still lead to veganism. Either plants are sentient or they are not, but either way, you’re going to lose this one.
YES.
Too true.
I may have tired eyes, worked 10 hours today, and literally be in bed right now, but I finally got my first real hair cut since chopping off ten inches in October. I feel good and happy. And sleepy.😪 Love and light, beautiful humans 💛💫💗
Mmmmm 😋 so glad Fry's carries @daiyafoods my fav roasted veggie dairy free pizza. Happy Frozen-Pizza Monday 💗 (at Phoenix, Arizona)
