idk what artist who has never smoked a cigarette needs to hear this but it's not "does the orange part or the white part go in the mouth??". The shorter part of the cigarette goes in the mouth, because it's the filter. it can be either color, different smokes are different, but the filter will always be the part that goes in the mouth bc it goes between your lungs and the tobacco to filter it.

This theory is based on the fact that Gon would be fighting Pitou even if Kite didn’t exist in the first place. But he wouldn’t be doing that because he wouldn’t be exploring that area during the ant crisis. If Kite didn’t exist, Ging would’ve sent Gon somewhere else once he completed Greed Island and wanted to travel with someone else to see Ging.

Also without Kite, it’s not impossible that Gon would’ve never left Whale Island. End if he did leave the island, it’s hard to tell when and whether he’d do it the right year to meet Killua during the exam.

This theory is based on an inciting event that is a very clear result of Kite’s presence in the story from the start. Not retroactively.

Killua truly is the character of all time. He spend millions on chocolate. He is immune to poison. The front gate of his house is a tourist spot . He is an overthinker prone to anxiety. He has a kill count high enough to call a mass murder an 'amateur'. He has infinite money. He has no goals. He likes gambling and is a great liar. When he walks, he makes no sound. He cried in secret about the possibility of losing his best friend at least three times. He fights barehands and when he couldn't use his hands he casually revealed he has two 50kg yo-yo in his pockets. His abusive family used life long gaslighting and magical mind manipulation to convince him that he would kill his best friend and he proceeded to fall in love with said friend and break out of his family influence from sheer devotion. He needs to electrocute himself to power up. He loves his op ostricized trans little sister. He changes clothes all the time. He is extremelly powerful and smart and he knows it. He is a sore loser. If he has no use to his loved ones he feels worthless. He is a middle child. He loves so deeply it hurts him. He is soooo rude. He is so sweet. He sees himself as an equal to his bestie while simultaneusly worshiping him. He nearly dies in a dart game. He is 12 years old.

i’m finally in a place where I want to watch Star Trek: The Next Generation and Deep Space 9 again so I’m finally back on my bullshit with my TNG AU. It also just hit me that this is the only one of my mainline AUs i’ve never talked about here? huh. Anyways this got very long and took most of my allowed tumblr time to type up so enjoy!

First off everything takes place on a Federation starship called the Blue Planet, flying under Captain Biscuit Krueger. I’m thinking that the Blue Planet is a Nebula-class vessel that performs various research and scientific missions on the edges of Federation territory and explored space, which gives a lot of potential for shenanigans. Bisky herself is an allasomorph from Daled IV, unbeknownst to most of her crew (or most of Starfleet for that matter), and she is blatantly ignoring the civil war on her home planet because unlocking the mysteries of the universe is a lot more fun. 

Well that’s the scene set, so now let’s get on to the main four!

Nen and Characters: Knuckle and Shoot

Knuckle and Shoot are introduced in the CAA and it appears obvious that they are meant to act as foils of respectively Gon and Killua.

This is something strengthened also by them being matched with the two boys in what is presented as a competition, but is later revealed to be a training session:

At the same time though, this pair is also quite different from the one formed by Gon and Killua to the point that their development can easily be seen as an alternative to the one Gon and Killua have in the CAA.

This analysis will try to focus on the similarities Shoot and Knuckle share respectively with Killua and Gon and the way they are different from the two protagonists.

What is more, I will also try to explore the fact that their powers are metaphors for social institutions and how this is important in an arc where humans have to fight creatures representative of the force of nature. I have talked about this also in Youpi’s meta, so now I will try to develop it further in relation to Knuckle and Shoot.
