so back on the hazbin reddit page, and some of these responses to someone being suspicious about hazbin merch has me cracking up.

it is a little funny to me to see some people saying "i didn't see the whole huskerdust thing till season two" cuz ah yes i platonically call my friends hot and a powerbottom when they are feeling down and upset. i also sing in romantic love ballads/duets with them to cheer them up. I also make sure to platonically hornily check out my friend covered in blood, and i make sure my eye pupils change to show I've grown to care about them. I do all these things platonically to all my friends, so i get how you didn't get it till husk was blushing at angel in a dress, makes total sense to me!

season 2 of hazbin hotel is proof that ships can be gayer. people bitched and moaned that chaggie wasn't obvious enough, and season 2 was like oh yeah? here's a sex song. here's them fucking, no here's them making love. fuck you and your face. we dont appreciate Vivienne Medrano for being the girlboss who does what she wants in her stories enough. I think in season 3 they should eat each other out on screen.

here's one thing i noticed but i didnt share before cause i know people will dislike it but as a filipino who saw parallels being set up, when i saw the sign that lu placed in his door the first thing i thought of was actually a sign done against filipinos (and other pocs before).

can be intentional can be not but its food for thought (i have a lot of thoughts)

i didn't wanna share it during s2 height but now its something i wanna share because i still remember lucifer's whole bias against all sinners and this (intentional/unintentional) parallel of al's memories back in his living days during episode 4 and one with his scenes with lucifer

lucifer's discrimination against sinners really run deep and i think it would be good if more writers tackle this especially with alastor's backstory as a poc during his era where racism/discrimination is at its most high because i still believe alastor really snapped and quit the hotel because of the things that lucifer said hit close to home

The idea that the show with the central theme of family is giving a character a pregnancy arc as a “filler story” because they’ve “run out of ideas” is actually nuts and so goddamn prevalent amongst people in this fandom and one day I’m gonna just punch someone who says it

i made this sort of joking with myself about my annoyance of Charlie's misunderstood character, but you're not gonna change my mind on this. What makes Charlie complex is the mistakes she makes, the lessons it takes her a while to learn, how she can be so so kind and graceful and so prideful at the same time, and all of that is interesting to me.

If its not to you? fine i guess, but i think you're missing out. I think its worth examining if you think Angel's backsliding or Husk's backsliding or any other male character's backsliding instead of growth is interesting but Charlie's annoys you. Like do you really hate how she's not stepping into her power, or do you hate that she's not doing that because she's a woman and you need her to be perfect and only grow and never make mistakes? It's something worth asking yourself.

You don't have to love Charlie as a character but like if you only like the male characters in the show and the main character who is a woman annoys you.... I think thats worth examining.

Also I'm not gonna argue with y'all in the replies. I'm not open to debate. If you find her annoying, like you do you, I just think you'd have a lot more fun if you examined Charlie with the half the kindness you examine Angel, Husk, or even fucking Vox with.
