i love love love billy and chrissy friendship, like

they both have abusive parents and i think they would relate a lot on the controlling disappointed parent thing, i also think billy sees a bit of his mother in chrissy (especially if you headcanon jason as abusive/toxic) and i think he has an easier time opening up to girls in general (only when they're not trying to fuck him).

i love fics where chrissy is billy's beard and billy is the reason people leave chrissy alone, i also love them pining together thinking it's hopeless (harringrove and hellcheer my beloved)

Eddie's uncle Wayne thought it would be a good idea to enroll him to the baseball team back in middle school, when his father was considered unable to take care of him. Sports keep you out of trouble, sports make you a team player and help with making friends and learning how to function in a society and teach you values and good sportsmanship. Another perk was tiring that kid down.

Chrissy started her first rebellion a few months after puberty hit her. She was on her period and her tummy was aching with every single move she made in gym class. Unfortunately she had forgotten to take pads with her and her mother's tight gript might have been better than her harsh words about making herself dirty and a mess infront of everyone. Late that night, the constant poking in her stomach had her vomiting all night. It was at 3 am when Chrissy decided that if she was going to be a mess, she might as well enjoy herself.

A few years later, Eddie's fucked up knee had him two years behind the schedule, but he was very much decided on what he was gonna do: get that athletic scholarship and study music, as far away from Hawkins as he could. Yes, 86 was his year, he just needed to stay out of trouble and keep up his good grades.

Which was proving to be really hard, with little Chrissy Cunningham being more interesting to look at instead of Mrs O'Donnell's blackboard.
