This chapter: While Killua searches for Kalluto, Gon takes on the role of guard. Something approaches him.

Killua appeared to have settled into his falcon, which meant their immediate safety now depended entirely on Gon himself, and he couldn’t afford a repeat of earlier, when he’d been so wrapped up in Killua he hadn’t noticed the wolverines until they sprang. The root by his shoulder was a poor fortification, and beside that, the bushes laden with bright blue berries made a decent screen from passersby but obscured any view deeper into the forest. Because he’d just eaten honeyed nuts, he couldn’t smell any nearby animals the god might have possessed, while the constant rustle of the forest might be concealing their approach. He wriggled a fraction higher, carefully sliding his arm out from behind Killua’s shoulders, but it wasn’t enough; he needed a better vantage point.
