My piece for @hxhbigbang26 I’ve been seeing this event for so long and never knew how to participate until this year hahah

Never have I ever drew something continuously for so long, andd I usually don’t like the outcome of it, but I had so much fun drawing it!

Anyway it’s kinda featuring @lester-van-fabul0uz upcoming fan fic. I drew the sketch right after I read the summary. it’s not accurate, but the summary itself gave me so much inspiration that I couldn’t contain myself.

I’ve been dreaming about this exact au for so long. And when I saw that one of the best hisoillu writers decided to presented it to the community I was soooo immensely happy! Yall should read it once it’s gonna be uploaded to ao3 (I’ll add a link once it’s published)

It was quite a challenge choosing a specific thing to illustrate this time, because honestly, I wanted it all. Most importantly, I fought the immense urge to draw the finale, but it really felt like a crime to spoil the splendid plot twist, so I didn't. There are still plenty of things I didn't have the time for, but this not only is one of my fav AU's now, but a thing I will definitely be back to later, because I'm not done with them yet hehe. Such an indescribable source of brain worms, loved it greatly, thank you so so much, one of the greatest chefs of alternative universes 🔥

And thanks to the @hxhbigbang26 team for all the work put in yet one more awesome event, (and especially for pairing me with one of my favorite writers again hehehe). It was a pleasure!

The backgrounds I tried making while contemplating what to draw, but didn't have time to use (have never done anything even remotely close to sci fi or mecha before- and what an experience of a lifetime it was) (hopefully I will use them later after all)

Haven't even finished reading when I jumped straight to ILLU (I know he wears black in the story but the temptation to reference the phantom rouge was surreal)

And ofc, as an all time Jax Briggs player when it comes to mortal kombat, drawing Hisoka and his cyborg arms was a necessity

Was blown away by all the character design descriptions btw. Genius work crafting this alternative world, chefs kiss- from synthetic floating fish of Chrollo's to Greed Island ads, everything was sooo well thought through

Damn I had so many ideas and so little productive time. Neon-ish Hisoka outfits

Okay, so I've been thinking about this one A LOT. And my answer isssss... Uh. Can't really choose one 😗 my beloved children Slow Burn and Mutual Yearning usually go well together, and ofc, I always LOVE putting them in a nicely crafted alternative universe! Love the obsessive Illumi, love melancholic Hisoka.

Love it when they work together, because they're at such a level of mutual understanding, they could take out the entire black whale if they really wanted too lol. In short, my fav hisoillu are perfect partners in crime.

Anyways, I can yap about them all day neeeext

Bonus answer! Since my indecisiveness is becoming my signature trait today, I have a bunch again:

Hisoka. I hear a lot of "Hisoka hair down" this, "Hisoka hair down" that, "If he wore his hair down more often"-

No. I have an immense respect for the updo tbh. Look at it- it's edgy, it's convenient and even aerodynamic lol. Best hairstyle for a lifestyle he has. But honestly, it is impossible to choose here. His hair is, hands down, the coolest in hxh. Super customizable, and even tho I prefer him ginger, as a person with udyable, hopelessly straight hair I am also dead jealous of bungee gum EVERY SINGLE DAY

I mean, tens of variations of colours and textures and he's slaying it every single time-

Which Hisoka are you feeling like today?

Illumi. It's a little easier here, because I will forever choose hair down and slid back for him. Simple, drop dead gorgeous, and basically a signature look of his. Pretty boyyy

But of course I had to experiment a little.

I don't think I have ever drawn him with his hair up, and I'm going to use this occasion now. Turns out he's extremely pretty with a bun, I'm adding this to my list of faves here too!
