I knew Born To Lead originated as a Ewen/Charles duet - but I had no idea a full version was in existence!

This brings me SO MUCH JOY.

Useful is such a joyous and heartbreaking song at the same time. Something about seeing two women from different generations bonding over the struggle of being a woman in such a patriarchal society means so much to me. I could talk about useful and what it means to me for hours and hours.

Making A Man

Closeups because I made this really unnecessarily detailed

This was supposed to be posted in time for pride but unfortunately. That didn’t happen. Either way this is a big happy pride and I love you and you’re doing great to all trans and gender queer folks! I hope the premise of the art obvious but if not my intention was that Monty has burnt a portrait of a version of himself that he no longer identifies with, and has brought the spotlight over to himself as he is now. (I’m now worrying that this could be bad messaging but maybe I’m overthinking so could someone who is part of the community just confirm or deny thank you x)

This took a long time, nearly 13 hours of tracked because I couldn’t just copy from a single reference and had to make a lot of stuff up (we’re one step closer to commissions! Yippee!), but in reality a lot longer because my iPad needed frequent breaks throughout the heatwave.

Next piece will not be mincemeat (unless it gets thrown into the WIP pile) but I will be back! I have a few more ideas for pieces and it’s criminal that this is the first time I’ve drawn Alex’s face, so this is for all the Alex!Monty enjoyers and I will get back on the case of that soon.

But anyway love to you all, stay safe in the hot weather and special shout-out to anyone who writes or draws trans Monty, you are pillars of this community xx

Hi, anon :D

My special interests are in theatre (musical theatre specifically) and in product design and creation. Which is sort of the reason my dream career is in technical theatre as it kinda combines both of these!

okay, hear me out… an operation mincemeat theatre kid school show au with Hester as the drama teacher, lead actor Monty, shy tech guy Charles, dance captain Bella with Prezzo andItalia as her choreographers and newbie Jean. Oh, and Bevan in the history teacher who gets dragged into helping because he’s married to Hester
