If this mf gets to go back to Hyperion Iām going to sob. Want the Aurinko family together forever but my god, even if he doesnāt stay, even if just gets to go back there one more time, Iām going to lose my mind.
Truly no one is doing non canon yaoi like harlanc from find us alive.
What happens when take a gay theatre kid psychologist who feels an unhealthy personal responsibility for everyone around him and give him a Cecil palmer from nightvale sounding man who works in communications, who has an alcohol addiction, a desperate need to be useful and a love for theatrics?
You get an insane ship dynamic with stupid funny lines such as:
ātell me about your feelings Harley I have a saw!ā
ā(Amused exasperation)ādonāt touch my stuff whatās wrong with you?!ā
And painful lines like ā(more desperate than angry) I donāt fucking care about the cut lanc. Why didnāt you tell me?!ā
āYouāre not supposed to handle it by yourself. Thats why we have team members.thats why we have therapists. Thatās why we have friends Orionā
āYour running from the problem Harley-ā
āYouāre the problem Lancaster. Iām running from youā
(Yeah these quotes are all from the same scene sue me itās their best angsty scene)
Hello world of Tumblr, I need help. I have been looking for some awesome Sci Fi podcasts to listen too. I love time travel, space, alternative realities. Literally anything to do with space and the brain.
Here is my long running list of currently listening and finished: wolf 359, EOS10, red valley, Archive 81, the edge of sleep, zeros hours, case 63, ars paradoxica, the deep vault, limetown, time:bombs, we're alive, close your eyes, Give me away, Camlann, Project Nova, and Deviser
Hi I love recommending things, and I've listened to *too many* shows, so some of my fav Sci fi reccs - under the cut because I could talk for years about podcasts and not get bored š
SCP: Find us alive (ongoing)
- technically SCP but you don't need any knowledge going in, it's much more character focused
- weird sci fi nonsense happens and an scp base gets *stuck* in a loop that they can't escape, and they can't leave the building
- canon lesbians and an autistic character
- other characters who if they aren't gay I'll eat my damn hat
- absolutely hilarious but has also made me cry, very heartfelt
I Am I Eskew (completed)
- local man gets stuck in a city that is fundamentally a twisting nightmare
- local man loses his mind
- i never know how to describe this pod, it's so utterly intense but also i can't tell you anything that happens without it feeling like a spoiler
- maybe the most paranoid wet cat character to ever grace your ears, Jonathan Simms wishes he had what David Ward has going on
Mission Rejected (Ongoing)
- calling Mission Rejected Sci fi feels reductive but I guess it technically is. It's just also one of the funniest things I've ever heard
- the story of the team of absolute human disasters that get called in for back up when the real spies are busy
- I don't know how to explain how funny this is, it's absolutely laugh out loud in the supermarket and get weird looks hilarious
- and also, the characters have some absolutely beautiful incredibly well developed friendships, you will spend a lot of time feeling very fond
Desert Skies (Ongoing)
- a petrol station and it's attendants that help you get set up for your journey to the next life
- big trigger warnings for discussions of death, talks a lot about regrets, and mentions of suicide
- but don't let that make you think this show is depressing, this show is so incredibly heartwarming, the characters love each other so very much, but also they care so intensely about making sure that Souls are set up for their journey, not just physically but emotionally
- it may be a show entirely about death, but the overwhelming feeling you'll leave this show with is hope
- also, it has the Malevolent Effect (it really is just all Jared, and my god you'll forget every episode)
Among the Stars and Bones (ongoing)
- found footage if it was aliens
- listen to the recordings of a space exploration team as they try to work out what happened to the original crew of this base, who have all disappeared
- now on S2, but capitalism happened, so the crew are out here fucking around and finding out again
- the characters in this show feel so incredibly human, and it's so interesting slowly gathering up more information about how their relationships and stories interconnect
- and the mystery is SO compelling
Okay, I'm going to stop there or I'll be writing this all day, but just know, I have more recs if anyone ever wants them š
And notice the potato doesnāt guilt you with āif you donāt, something horrible will happen.ā Potato wouldnāt betray you like that, because potato is a refined person of good humor and character, and understands that, sometimes, a visit to your dashboard just isnāt convenient right now. Sometimes you just went on a fandom gif reblogging spree or your energy is low, you do not have the time to make your dashboard suitable to guests, and a polite visit just isnāt in the cards. Potato understands this, and doesnāt get upset, or gods forbid, throws a tantrum and wishes ill on your household. Instead, Potato merely stores away their blessings for a later visit and leaves as a good friend should.
the fact that all the other aurinkos are criminals who know of each other's exploits while juno's over there like "???" is fuckin hilarious because everyone's like "this is jet sikuliaq, the unnatural disaster" "this is buddy aurinko renowned crime boss and daughter of palomine aurinko" "this is vespa ilkay renowned assassin" "this is peter nureyev the angel of brahma"
and you know juno's sitting there frantically space googling everyone

Now is a really good time to be able to push back on that. Feel free to ask why a woman who has denied the Holocaust has a more important voice than several hundred thousand trans people and our loved ones, and also to ask if Labour has any plans for addressing the deficiencies in LGBTQ rights in the UK reported in the UN Special Rapporteur's dossier on this shithole nation :)
I donāt know if any of you are from the UK, but if you want to throw in your 2 pennies please do. We have to band together, we have to look out for each other. God knows the powers that be arenāt going to do it.
Theyāll come for all of us if they get the chance, and I know that sounds dramatic but Iām really not joking.
We have a right to exist. We have a right to be heard. We will always be here, whether they like it or not. Hold your head high.
