How about a friendly little game? Do you think you can resist being hypnotized until the end of the post? If you can't, all you'll need to do is admit that you were able to sink into trance. Just a simple comment or reblog or message, sharing that admission. And if you win, you can share that as well however it will feel best. And won't that feel nice, being able to reblog that you won? Being able to tell me that you won our little game?
The only condition is you have to agree to follow along with everything I tell you. If you are asked to close your eyes for a moment, you do as you are told. Asked to count down slowly from 5 to 1, you count. Easy enough, right? When you are ready, you will give these words your full attention. So now take the time you need to make sure that you are ready to drop, and when you are, we will begin.
Take a breath in...and out. You become comfortable following my instructions. Comfortable letting yourself focus right here. And you can find that the more you focus, the easier it is to tune everything else out. You might be aware of your own body or your own thoughts. But you might also find that those sensations remind you how well you are focusing. The way your body relaxes. The way your thoughts can slow. All of it shows you that you are focused. That you are giving me the attention I ask for. That you are following along so very well. And that can also feel so nice, because sometimes it can feel really good to do as you are told. Especially when it can be so simple. Just breathe and focus and notice the way your body and mind respond. Remember to breathe. Slow and deep. In and out. And that does feel good, doesn't it?
So as you focus on the words you are reading, noticing how your muscles can relax a little more the more we continue, you can be aware of how your mind is quieting. And you remember to breathe again. And feel how the exhale affects your body. How it sharpens the focus in your mind. How it reminds you that it's alright to feel good following along, remembering to do as you are told feel your body relax more and more with every word reminding you to breathe and focus and slip down. Because relaxing deeper and deeper feels more and more wonderful when your mind is calm and each breath helps you focus more and more on my words making you feel better and better.
And if it feels good to breathe and relax and focus and slip down, you know you must be doing well. We are playing a game after all, and the most important part of any game is enjoying yourself. So if you let yourself focus deeply on my words and that makes you feel good, you must be doing something right. If you notice that you mind is becoming less busy, that following along is helping to center you, then you know that you are doing exactly what you are supposed to.
That's something else about this game that I didn't mention at first. No matter how it goes, you win either way. Maybe at the end, you get to imagine that you were triumphant. That you were able to resist some nefarious plot to subvert your will and enthrall your mind. And you can be proud of the fact that you did so well. Or maybe instead you get to sink down into trance. You get to enjoy that experience of letting your guard down, of letting my words find their way into your mind. And you love the way that feels. When you don't need to think on your own anymore. When you can just feel. Especially when it feels so amazing to experience trance. To let go. To surrender. And when you think about it like that, how wonderful this experience will be either way, it becomes so much easier to enjoy the process. To invest your focus that much more. So breathe. Focus. And enjoy. Because you know you are going to win no matter what.
And what will that feel like for you? Imagine what it will be like to be hypnotized. How will your body feel? What will you be aware of? Maybe you can imagine how you will look. Your eyes losing focus. Your lips gently parted. Your breathing slow and even. Following along so well. Waiting to be told what comes next. Each slow and even breath telling your mind just how deep you have gone. Mind and body working together to send you even deeper. And all you feel is that bliss. Your mind open. Receptive. Content...
Maybe you can imagine what will be going on in your mind when you are deep in trance. Maybe it will be nothing at all. Feeling completely blank...mindless...open...Maybe if your mind switches off, you won't even realize how deep you have gone. Maybe you could even convince yourself you weren't hypnotized. That even though it felt so good to follow my words. To breathe and let go and let your mind be still for a little while, you might pretend you weren't as deeply affected as you clearly were. As suggestible as you might have become. And that's alright too, because you get to win either way as you let yourself sink even further down.
And as you continue to breathe and focus. As you notice the way your body and mind respond. As everything else can fade from awareness, you can imagine the process of sinking down. Maybe it feels like walking slowly down a staircase. Maybe you can picture that. Picture the look of the steps, the feel of the handrail. Maybe you can't quite see where the stairs lead, but you know it is somewhere you want to be. You know how good it will feel when you arrive. That once you reach the bottom, you can rest for a while. And then, as you are ready, you can descend, one step at a time. Feel yourself getting closer and closer to reaching that place where you can let go so completely. Feel yourself going down. Take the time to picture that scene in your mind. And one by one, you can count down the steps you have left. Moving at the pace that feels best for you. You step down again. Again...
8...And with each step you find your mind relaxing more.
7...Anticipating the comfort that is waiting for you at the bottom.
6...Maybe you move a little slower. Maybe you can take as long as you need.
5...It just feels good to be moving further and further...
Or maybe you experience that feeling of dropping more passively. Letting it be something that happens to you. Some force that works on you that you make no effort to resist. Like sinking down into a pool. Imagining the warmth and currents of the water swirling gently around you. Inviting you deeper. Maybe as more and more of you sinks down you notice the stillness of the surface. That tranquility mirroring your mind. Peaceful...Quiet...making it so easy to follow. Distraction melting away before it can even be noticed. Your thoughts coming slower. Your focus deepening as you sink deeper. Focus on these words. Focus on following so well. You are doing so well.

And when the time comes and we reach the end of this journey down together, you know your body will respond exactly how it is supposed to. Your mind will respond exactly how it is supposed to. You won't even need to think about it. You just press that little button, to comment or reblog or message, sharing this experience because that's what feels right. Because that's what you do when you enjoy winning exactly the way you were supposed to. And that will feel so good, just a little reward for winning in the way that felt best to win. And if it feels right to say something, sharing that you won or how you won or how it feels to win, that can happen so easily as well when the time is right. Right now all you need to focus on is the experience of letting go even more. Letting my words guide you. Letting yourself breathe deep. And feeling that pull deeper and deeper down.
Because you can see it so clearly now. You can picture yourself descending deeper into trance. Imagining how it will feel when you are all the way down. When your mind can go quiet. When you can feel the peace of that gentle surrender. Maybe you feel that pull even stronger now, wanting to be entranced, remembering how good it feels when you
