If Captain from Ghosts was a movie character, he’d be Ennis Del Mar from Brokeback Mountain.

Both at first glance appear to be stereotypes of heteronormative masculinity. (Ennis a cowboy, captain well a captain)

And each know this, and there feel ashamed of the fact they are gay. And do everything in there power to suppress it and be considered “normal”. Because the are from eras where being gay was considered a “sin”. Society made them suppress who they are, which hurt people. (Alma, Jack, themselves, Havers etc)

They just seem like cinematic parallels, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the six idiots took inspiration from the character of Ennis whilst creating the Captain.

The Captain is my favourite character from ghosts. I really hope they go easy on him this season. Redding Weddy was heartbreaking enough.

Ethan.

I have only read Open Heart book 1 and only have 2 chapters left on book 2. I romanced Ethan, because I liked him in book 1, he gave off Adrian Raines vibes and I miss Bloodbound so I was like ok this guy then.

But after scrolling through tumblr and seeing the stuff on open heart book 3, I’m not gonna bother finishing it or starting book 3. From what I’ve read Ethan has become a little b*tch and I don’t want to have an li like that. They’ve seem to really favour Ethan. And there was this diamond scene and he would act romantically towards you even if he wasn’t your li? That’s just not ok pb. Also another by @drethanramslay said about how he was just handed his job back after meddling on a case, whilst their mc (who was poc) was put on trial and accused by Harper for something Ethan ( a white man) did.

You would think that after everything that has happened in the past year with Black Lives Matter, pb would’ve taken a different approach and given more time to poc lis, like Jackie, or Rafael,(who are way better looking back) given them equal treatment and diamond scenes. They should’ve tried to make a change and they didn’t. It’s just wrong and therefore I am not going to read the horror show that is open heart book 3.
