I really enjoy the Thorin needing glasses headcanon so here’s my take:
After the rebuilding of Erebor, an opticians office opens. Bilbo INSISTS that Thorin gets his eyes checked, since he learned from the journey that this man was absolutely close to legally blind.
Thorin, begrudgingly, goes along with Bilbos demands, and to the surprise of no one, he absolutely needs glasses.
Soon after, he receives said glasses. He surveys the room, so shocked to be able to perceive the finer details around him.
And then he sees Bilbo.
By god. He was the most beautiful thing he’d ever laid eyes on. Prettier than gold. Than jewels. Than…anything, perhaps.
Bilbo notices Thorin’s eyes widening, as if in paralyzing shock.
“What’s the matter, love?”
“Ghivashel…”
Thorin cups his face and takes an even closer look.
“If I had known that you were truly this beautiful, I would have asked for your hand long ago…” he says, kissing Bilbo’s hand.
Bilbo blushes profusely.
Anakin deliberately ignores the will of the force and disregards it because he hates it. He's tired of being the chosen one, of being a child of the force.
He sees Obi-wan as his father because it allows him to be someone else, to be Shmi's child, to be Obi-wan's child, to finally be someone normal, not a chosen one, a being born of the force.
But no matter how much he desires it, everyone will see the chosen one.
Unless...
he turns to the dark side of the force.
Then he will no longer be the chosen one, the prophecy will not come true.
But then he will no longer be anyone's child, not Shmi's nor Obi-wan's...
But he will still be a child of the force, something he will never be rid of.
Anakin hating his Force sensitivity.
Different from ordinary people.
Too powerful to be a Jedi.
Unsuitable for either side.
He wishes he were born without it, even though he knows he probably wouldn't exist at all or would be dead.
Maybe that would be better; if he didn't exist, maybe it would be nicer.
(I thought about it, Anakin seems to focus more on physical combat than on his Force sensitivity.)

"i like tcw anakin better than prequel anakin because he's more suave and charismatic" that's the problem!! that's ooc! he's not supposed to be suave and charismatic and the fact that he wasn't in the prequels isn't a problem that needs to be fixed! aotc anakin is an insanely mentally ill teenager talking to his crush for the first time and his swagless looks and cringefail personality are what captivates padme so!
I've always interpreted Anakin's disobedience not as him being an arrogant brat, but as a demonstration that he feels safe enough among the Jedi to have a different opinion and express it.
For the first time in his life, he's not afraid of being punished for his opinion, that he doesn't have to worry about being beaten for disobeying an order.
For the first time in his life, he can have opinions.
For the first time in his life, he's treated as a human being.
