My life in one meme
employer: hi! mind giving me a little bit about yourself?
me: im gay and in pain
I hate it when one thing flairs, and before you know it, sets off a chain reaction and flares everything else. I got a migraine from hitting my dab rig too fast, which flaired my fibromyalgia, which then makes me more sensitive to the latent lupus damage. So now Iām sitting there, high, and in a 9/10 pain level. Just kill me
Parents who say, "If you're feeling well enough to play video games, you're feeling well enough to go to school!" don't seem to realize they are equating an extremely low impact leisure activity with a high stress and difficult involuntary obligation.

Plus, you know. You canāt really give Luigi strep throat
Studies have shown that active distractions like video games can lower pain and discomfort better than passive distractions like watching tv
If youāre feeling well enough to play video games then you can use it as a symptom reducer just like we use cold medicine to make us feel better so we can relax
me, continuing to look at a screen despite having a headache: OUCH my brain⦠OUCH my brain⦠OUCH my brain⦠OUCH my brain⦠OUCH my brain⦠OUCH my brain⦠OUCH my brain⦠OUCH my brainā¦
When we talk about being fat-positive and we say, āweight is not an indication of health,ā I will reblog it. But I want us to also say, āhealth is not an indication of value.ā
I could be at any weight and I will never be healthy, because I am chronically ill. Someone might be chronically ill and fat, or they might be chronically ill and not fat, and it really doesnāt matter.
When you make it about health, youāre saying health is the pinnacle of human achievement, and youāre shitting on those of us for whom health will always be a pipe dream.
Oh Oh
You know you are a spoonie when you have a favorite vein for your blood draw
Diagnosis??? More like diagNOsis haha am I right I donāt want this illness someone help
The worst part for me about being disabled by invisible illnesses is still meeting peopleās expectations. I have a bachelors degree and work a 9-5 office job in my field at 22: by ānormalā (I hate that word) standards, Iām successful. Standard. But Iām still disabled. I still sit at my desk in huge amounts of pain because any position that isnāt laying down hurts me tremendously. Iām still actively being looked at for a hip replacement. I have to wear arthritis gloves to type. I have to take 11 prescriptions and supplements to function. I still see my therapist every week. I still struggle
Success does not invalidate your disability.
when straight people talk to gays
BACK WHEN DISNEY CHANNEL KNEW WHAT WAS UP I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS SHOW
I hate when older people say āoh, youāre too young for thatā when I say anything about being in pain like yes I know Iām too young but this is my every day life that I have absolutely no control over
[gif of a person bending one frying pan, labeledĀ āMental Health,ā by hitting it with another frying pan, labeledĀ āChronic Illnessā]
I hate chronic pain because I feel like it takes the fun out of everything. It all just feels like Iām vaguely floating through life trying to ignore my entire body by disociating, and when youāre disociating nothing is fun. It makes my depression worse, which makes me lie in bed more, which makes my pain more. Its an endless cycle :/

How people with learning disabilities are portrayed in media
As much as I love shows like The Good Doctor, I just feel like they often push the narrative that people with autism/learning disabilities can only be appreciated and admired if their disability is compensated for by a Superhuman ability. And this is a common trope Iāve seen on media regarding people with disabilities.
