a character from my story, Aleks (or Alex, it's interchangeable I guess, but if he spoke english he'd probably write his name with an extra letter)

It's a card design for a current trend among russian online artists and merch-makers: a challenge called #OCcardswop where you draw and then print out a card portraying (and sometimes describing) your original character, and then you can exchange those cards with other artists at art-markets and different meetings in person or via postal service, collecting the ones you like. Some people only exchange for other cards, some also sell or exchange for chocolate, other sweets, energy drinks etc. I wanted to join the event for a long time but only now managed to actually draw a card; now I just impatiently wait for it to get printed. My card is my character Aleks, a hero of the story I've yet to develop into an actual coming series (maybe sometime it'll happen, who knows). He's just a regular guy living in a college dorm and also he can turn invisible and also he's very dumb and I love him <з

Very much not my normal posting but since antisemitism is very actively rising, I feel like it's worth it:

Pinely is a Youtuber who's been doing a series on conspiracy theories and antisemitism. He's Jewish himself and his videos do a good job at exploring how people fall down antisemitic rabbit holes and how conspiracy theories relate to antisemitism (he's one of the only people ive seen who, when talking about shane dawson, specifically called out how antisemitism tied in to his shilling of conspiracy theories to kids). He's also just very funny (in my opinion) and a Jewish, non-white, non-American commentary channel, which is rare and refreshing. If you want to learn more about antisemitism, his videos might be something to check out. I rarely ever see people call out antisemitism specifically in commentary videos even when they call out racism, misogyny, etc., which makes watching someone tackle antisemitism so head on very nice.

the way in which Sam’s assurance that Claire deserves support and family as a young adult is met by Cas’s genuine confusion because he knows for a fact Sam had neither of these things. And Sam is just completely thrown off track because he did not expect someone to empathise with that it’s just some wound lying there unspoken of in over a decade and quickly diffuses and diverts back to Claire. might be one of the most scenes in the entire show.

Okay but I am emotional about this again because Sam has so hardcore developed his view of being alone in college losing time with his dad and leaving his family (he even says he was wrong to), but this like totally just mirrors his own actual perception and turns it on its head in a way he is unaccustomed to. Like he’s so convinced connection and love mean giving up everything, and it is the only way to live. But here it’s something Sam lacked, something he deserved!! It’s like somewhere he probably wanted to hear it acknowledged for years and all it takes is Cas mirroring and caring about him to shock him.
