quiet about 911 because if i start thinking about it a vein jumps out on my forehead
killed off one of your titleship characters because you didn't wanted to pay the actor more money using the excuse of realism but starts the next season with a costly cgi-heavy storyline because you sent your emergency service characters to literally space. implied one man might be in love with another for fun and profit and then you decide to sideline their entire friendship in the next season because now there's an elephant every time they're in the same room and you don't want to add more gay people to your show. also, it can't focus on romance! except we're going to make a het couple who never interacted before canon. speaking about that: lets return two child characters as now adults except the brother gets the main character treatment and 50% of new storylines and the main sister only gets brought in when her brother or boyfriend are jealous. inumerable hiatuses throughout the episodes killing any type of consistency or momentum in the storylines. the big finale of the season, which, again, started in space, is about the russian mob. a main character gets a son in the last two episodes. he also was struggling with addiction like two episodes ago, but it's all right now. and one of the other main characters also had a chronic illness. but she's also alright now! don't you like our character heavy ensemble show :)
is complaining about something on your own blog cope
OLIVIA RODRIGO stupid song (2026)
YOU SEEM PRETTY SAD FOR A GIRL SO IN LOVE
Thinking back to the good early days before my skin grew back when people could shake their heads at me and say "masks are a government conspiracy" and instead of navigating the bullshit like a normal person I could pull mine down and say "I have chemical burns on my face"
things people expect in a political confrontation:
Facts
Logic
Emotional outbursts
Things they are never prepared for:
Open sores
This post: "Thinking back to the good early days before my skin grew back"
Me: off to a compelling start
Girls always start dating the most awful man and start saying things like "he's my rock." Yesss girl, and you are Sisyphus. Have fun with that one.
Rolling Stone is a huge publication that could be highlighting so many important issues, but instead of that, they published an article that paints Taylor as a victim, saying all the hate towards her turned out to be bots and an attempted "smear campaign". It's not of her own actions like being politically silent within recent years, hanging out with vocal trump supporters, saying her favorite podcast is a MAGA podcast that helped get Trump elected, sending hand-written letters showing love to abusers, etc etc, but rather everyone pointing that out is just "falling for a bot-led smear campaign." Also, everyone loved her latest album, all the hate it got was a planned and malicious attack. Everyone actually loved her album, and if you didn't, you fell for it, and you're wrong.
The poorly researched and written article really paints it all as: the discourse (that has lasted over two years, actually) only happened recently because of "bots", and Taylor never did anything to cause this discourse herself. The countless videos people made discussing the topic of her weak politics? Just bots. The people having constructive criticism on her album? Fell for the smear campaign. Nothing is real, and everyone is a sheep. Taylor Swift needs to be the victim of everything but her own actions, and everything she does is amazing. Thank you for your bravery in calling out this injustice in times like these, Rolling Stone.
Updating this with the new information that the way they discovered these “bots” was through, in their own words, “an AI-driven behavioural intelligence platform” (which is gudea.ai). They used AI to discover a small amount of bots hating on Taylor so people didn’t call out her being out of touch. Okay.
it is troubling that now earnest conversations and criticisms about taylors recent affiliations and stuff will be immediately derailed and accused of being bots / taking smear tactic bait
you have got to kill the abled version of you that lives inside your head and makes you feel like dogshit and i’m not joking.
they should make a version of socializing that doesn’t make you feel like you’re still the weird 12 year old kid that doesn’t know why she’s not normal like the other kids
ok so 2 white house posts with tloas songs in the same week...... hmmmm ok so maybe it's time that something was done about that? idk. i'm just saying. maybe. idk though. would be great if something happened.
i understand that there have been security concerns for taylor - stalkers, open death threats from white supremacists, etc. many people don't expect her to say anything brazen or release an open statement against the current american administration if she or her team think that could lead to a security concern for her. she could atleast remove the songs from instagram like olivia has done. just a silent removal will speak volumes. she could let her actions speak instead of her words. is that asking for too much?
Official Trump social media accounts have been using The Life of a Showgirl snippets to promote his agenda. Why has Swift, who once wanted ‘
so glad mainstream media is catching up to this. i feel like the last two paragraphs of the article pretty much sum up what a lot of people feel about this situation rn.
"It is difficult to forget the young woman of Miss Americana who so passionately rejected the advice of those around her in order to speak up for what she believed was right. Whatever you think about celebrities’ impact on politics, Swift’s platform is so monumental that any public opposition to the Trump administration would be valuable, be it through her art or her actions. It may further fuel what is already a fiery and divisive political climate, but her influence gives her the potential to galvanise thousands in rejecting increasingly regressive and terrifying social and political norms. But if Showgirl is indicative of Swift’s current preoccupations, she has never been more insular. Vengeful, self-absorbed and lacking imagination, it is the product of an artist who seems disconnected from the anxious state of the world. “I protect the family,” she sings on Father Figure. Once, you knew exactly what that meant. Now, it’s not so clear."

olivia rodrigo is so based for this honestly. she just condemned the dept of homeland security and the white house instagram accounts for using her song 'all-american bitch'. this comes after she famously removed her song 'deja vu' from tiktok last year because trump's team used it in a campaign post.
idk I think the worst thing about wi$h li$t is that she has written about domesticity and love in a beautiful and heartfelt way before. the bit in all too well about the photo album and the mom telling childhood stories. not to mention "dancing round the kitchen in the refrigerator light" which is an all-timer of an image. "moved the furniture so we could dance"..."barefoot in the kitchen, sacred new beginnings"...
and though she hasn't talked a LOT explicitly about having children, we do get the vaguely maternal "never grow up" early on which talks about children and the home in a fairly traditional way but doesn't summon the same discomfort as wi$h li$t because it's tender and sincere. she's also had kids in multiple music videos—at least mine and lover that I recall—and it was fine and I honestly found the use of the daughter in the lover mv really beautiful. (there's also the mention in peace, but that strikes me as a different vibe. I did not forget it though do not worry.) but in wi$h li$t the kids aren't really people, they're just markers of a successful personal life.
I also (relatedly) think her use of detail in the images of suburbia in wi$h li$t is less effective than how she typically uses details, because usually her details serve to add character and specificity. (thinking the scarf in all too well, hair tangled in coat buttons in soon you'll get better.) but the images called upon in wi$h li$t are generic, each actually serving to make the scene less specific, less interesting. like damn even the fucking super bowl sunday aspirational tradwife tweet set a better scene.

People are allowed to not like a Taylor Swift album…
this has been going on since midnights but saying that the album art and aesthetic should match the music shouldn’t be a controversial take
