You know a tag is popular when the pornbots show up
This has probably been said before but lowkey the zutara vs kataang discourse reminds me of the dramione vs ron/hermione discourse
What if I said that the way tennis fans use the term “classy” is often based on vibes? If I told you that using vibes to determine who is the best can be harmful to marginalized groups because of socially ingrained biases? What then?
stop discrediting science please <3
In light of the response to the artemis ii mission, I just wanna say that I am sick and tired of people talking shit about stem fields they know nothing about.
People who say "maybe we should solve climate change instead of worrying about exploring space" and argue that nasa's funding would be better spent elsewhere make me want to tear my hair out. My guy, how do you think the atmospheric monitoring satellites that help us learn about climate change got there? Nasa is not only obviously not the problem here, they are also actively part of the solution.
This is a digression, but to be clear, people say that shit about every other field. Like coral reefs are a massive source of pharmaceutical leads, but people who are talking out of their ass will say "oh why would we study fish when we could be funding medical research or something more important".
Heads up, science doesn't work that way. The engineers of the ISS were inspired by beetle wings, and the digital signal processing techniques that NASA developed to enhance images of the moon were a significant development for MRI and CT scanning technologies, and eating other sciences to take funding for yourself is never a good idea because everything is connected. But you don't know that space travel is about anything other than looking at the stars because you don’t know what you're talking about. Literally all you have to do is google "science developments from the iss". Guys I'm begging you, I know bugs seem unimportant and I know that the mechanical engineering major that was on a project with you once in college was annoying but discrediting a field you clearly know nothing about is fundamentally anti-intellectual no matter how many crowd pleasing points you work into it.
As someone who did not have a lot of faith in the legitimacy of the security guard scandal from the beginning, we CANNOT be using the Gudea article as proof, guys. This is an AI company who is not very open about their methodology. They weren’t a legitimate source when they covered Taylor Swift and they aren’t a legitimate source now. If people want to believe that the security guard and Chappell are both lying with no evidence other than their biases (because even the mother was not that sure about thinking he was Chappell’s security), then they’re going to do that. Using this article to make them look dumb for believing this only makes Chappell look worse.
I was so ashamed that it took me so long to actually read “Lowkey, I Chose To Be a Lesbian” after all the discourse. Imagine my relief, upon actually reading it and realizing that I’m pretty sure none of you have read it either.
At the end of the day, the current backlash against Chappell Roan’s old and out of context quote about not liking men’s art boils down to the leftist version of “not all men”
I’m so sorry it is giving adult diaper
Lowkey an edit of Novak to Behind Blue Eyes would go crazy
So did anyone think the whole “I felt like an unwanted child” thing was stating the obvious? I was like Novak WE KNOW and then it seemed like a lot of people took that quote very seriously
Yes, perhaps we know, but most people aren't self aware enough to know and accept something like that about themselves. And most people (especially sportspeople!) would rather die than make themselves vulnerable enough to admit such things. So that's why a lot of people took it quite seriously.
This is an interesting perspective; I was mostly thinking about how I saw fans react to the quote in a way that seemed surprised about the content but perhaps I misread them. As for the introspection, I honestly find that compared to most sportspeople tennis players and especially the big three in the last couple of years are super introspective and insightful about themselves.

I’ve started referring to fandom’s tendency to heterosexualize mlm relationships as the Sterek Effect. yk, when you have one dude always feminized to high hell while the other becomes an egregiously hyper-masculine caricature of himself??
they could be the same height, age, status, build, temperament, physical prowess…doesn’t matter. one’s in a short skirt and the other can bench press 873 pounds.
nothing is worse than being in a fandom and not liking the main ship
has anyone talked about rafa and twink death yes I know he was too jacked to truly ever be a twink but like
every time a powerful man does something shitty a bunch of gay porn gets deleted from the internet and I think that’s kind of sad, actually
