today i had the absolute honor of encountering the gorgeous white sturgeon while diving the smith river in northern california. multiple times this angel came near to me underwater, closer to me than its own body length of nearly 2 meters, as i hovered there in perfect silence completely awestruck by its presence. what a majestic and otherworldly creature, and what a privilege to finally meet one in person.
