Last days of summer, a road trip; the boys stop to gaze at the stars as the sun sets on another day. The future? Still to be discovered.
These last days of summer, where I can already smell the scent of autumn at the gates, just makes me think of a journey without a destination, towards a new future!
I’m so sorry if i’m not very active anymore here on Tumblr, life is unpredictable and really time is more and more less, unfortunately. But I think of you, I think of the friendships made online, of the people I talk to here and in any case I consider this blog a happy place, after all! ❤
Aaaaand big news: I reopened my shop on Redbubble ( click here) and uploaded this work with other things!! —– Hope You like It!!
If your group has a lot of members and few costumes, the best goes to the fastest)
I am starting a new series of different sketches and want to hear about your favorites)
And, yes, if SOMEONE continues to cut and erase my signatures, I will put them on the faces of the characters.
🌟 Happy 50th Anniversary to Queen! 🌟
This is one of my favourite photos of the band and I thought the @50yearsofqueen anniversary was the perfect occasion to finally draw it! 😍💖 And to make it extra special I recorded also a speedpainting of the coloring process! It took me longer than it should've had, but I'm so happy of the result, specially about the boys' expressions! I hope you'll enjoy! 😊💕💜💖💕💜💖
Reblogs and comments are highly appreciated, please don't repost on other websites 😊
This is fantastic! And one of my favourite photos too

Anyway. Let’s think about Freddie‘s smile.
I agree😌
These are the kind of funny short articles they’d used to publish in the 70s. The legitimacy is of course questionable 😅
Freddie's second public performance as lead singer of Ibex, Queen's Park, Bolton, 24 August 1969 (Blake - Freddie Mercury)
I've never seen this incredible pic before!

Sounds - October 19, 1974
“A drum is a drum is a drum… And that’s as far as it goes”
By Geoff Barton
A lot of musicians featured recently in “Play Your Own Sounds” have admitted to being frustrated guitarists, and Queen`s drummer Roger Meadows-Taylor appears to be no exception: “I really would have liked to be a guitarist – my first instrument was a guitar, but I just somehow found myself with some drums and it went from there.
“I first started playing drums when I was about 11 or 12, along with some friends who were also learning instruments at the time. I found that I was best on drums by far, and it eventually blossomed into a bit of an obsession.
“I began to acquire a collection of drums, and I built a kit up slowly. I worked at it a bit and gradually learnt how to play and earned a bit of money to get a better kit. I had a Premier kit for years, but now I`ve got a very nice big Ludwig kit which has taken some time to get together really, because it`s made up of unusually-sized drums. I`ve always liked Ludwig best. They`ve always been the drums I`ve wanted – I like the sound of them and all my favourite drummers play them. I just couldn`t think of playing anything else.”
CONTROLLABLE
Roger had amongst his array of equipment a seven and a half inch Ludwig snare; a large 26 inch bass drum; an assortment of Paiste cymbals and Shaftesbury stands, which he recommends. He uses Ginger Baker sticks: “They`re one of the few sticks made that don`t get very thin at the end. They get thin, but not too thin – they don`t snap too easily. Also, you can get a really good whip on them and they`re very controllable.”
Roger said that he was quite obsessed with drum playing. I wondered how far that obsession went – was he as dedicated a musician as, say, Billy Cobham?
“No, I`m not as dedicated as he is. I`m… fairly dedicated, but it doesn`t run my whole life. There are times, like when I`m on holiday, when I forget I`m a drummer.”
Visually, Queen are a very exciting, very active band. Do you ever tend to feel in the background?
“I don`t know… I`m not really the sort of person to be in the background. The drummer always works so hard. It`s the most energetic job, no matter how much your lead singer might prance around. If your lighting is good, there`s no need for you to feel in the background at all.”
EFFECTS
Roger`s favourite drummers include Max Roch, Billy Cobham, Carmen Acapulco and John Bonham: “For a rock `n` roll drummer, Bonham is absolutely untouchable. His live sound is incredible.”
Queen are also a band very much into effects, both musically and visually. I wondered if Roger was particularly into that side of things.
“Fairly… just as a means to a musical end really. Some effects, like echoes are really important. There`s nothing wrong in using them.”
How about drum effects?
“Umm – no, you see we played about once with sort of different delayed effects, but that didn`t work out really. I think it`s all a matter of equalisation on the drums. If it sounds right that`s all that matters.”
And synthesised drums?
“Not interested, no, not really. A drum is a drum is a drum and that`s as far as it goes.”

This is possibly the most enthusiastic I’ve ever heard him be about being a drummer
Interesting… some quotes in this vary from his usual responses.
I just watched an episode of Queer Eye in Japan, and they showed a gay bar called New Sazae in Tokyo which was established in 1966. They usually played Disco music there and the young woman who was their interpreter told them that Freddie Mercury always used to visit this gay club when he was in Tokyo because he loved it there so much. He called it “his home”. Another interesting tidbit why he was so enarmored with Japan.

My previous post has just reminded me!
I saw posts on Instagram where some people were saying that Roger's t-shirt - "Choose Life" is an anti abortion statement. I assume these are younger fans who only have modern use of that phrase to go off, and haven't seen the film trainspotting.
Choose Life was an anti drug abuse/anti suicide campaign in the 80s and 90s, it had nothing to do with pregnancy or abortion. George Michael and Andrew Ridgely also wore Choose Life T-shirts.
I can understand being young and not knowing this, but the solution is to look things up and research, not spread wrong information just because you've got limited context to work with.
If you see this being spread in places you can reply, please correct the people saying it. It's not just about Roger Taylor and what he believes, it's the rewriting of history that's a concern too. That was a big movement! That was a big deal! And to have it be forgotten and the phrase misattributed to a new thing that is unrelated to it, is frustrating.
YES VERY
He looks part angel, part devil here and I love it.
🦁🦁🦁 HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROGER TAYLOR! 🦁🦁🦁
I made this drawing as a pair with Brian, always with their version from my fantasy AU Down in the Dungeons! We know he's a fierce Leo, with his blonde fluffy mane and a real brave heart full of energy! This is how I love to see Roger, strong and never afraid to speak his mind, met it be in interviews or through his music! His drumming always precise and powerful like a knight's sword. His golden hair and radiant smile bringing the sunshine in everyone's life, always loving a good laugh. Happy birthday Roger, always wish you the best 💕💕💕
Once again this drawing has been realized mixing digital (early sketch and final editing) and tradiotional medias (inking, coloring with watercolors and markers) 💖 Hope you like it!
Please don't repost this anywhere!!! Comments and reblogs always welcomed ♡
