challenge 2018
2018 is shaping up to the the most influential year of my 32 on this planet. After the devastating lows of last year due to deaths in the family, most noticeable my old man last May, it felt like we all needed some good news and something to celebrate.
Not long into the New Year, myself and Christina took a walk on a very cold, wet and windy day to a spot in the Peak District that we’ve been to many times. It holds a special place in my heart as it’s a place that dad would take me and my sisters as kids, so when thinking of a location for a proposal it felt perfect.
The ring was purchased in October, the question was asked in January, but I’d known for a long time that she would be the person I’d want to spend the rest of my life with.
The dust had just settled on our engagement news while we were off to the hospital for our first scan to confirm what we had suspected since December. We are expecting a baby, and our most recent scan reveals that the incoming child will be a baby boy.
Due August, it’s safe to say our lives are ready to be turned upside down but we are ready for parenthood.
Although dad won’t be around to see his latest grandson, I’ll do my best to raise him to know how much of a wonderful man his granddad was, and try to teach him just like my old man did me.
