Fan art of Iblis and tips on how to draw them

I need to say how sad it is to see that so few Sonic fans do anything related to Iblis. I know it's because they barely has a personality in the game, but I feel they has the potential for interesting stories!

Okay, now that I've vented about the character itself, I want to show you the challenge it was to try and draw their confusing Phase 3 model!

I take a long time to be satisfied with my Iblis drawings. I used to only use images for reference, but they didn't show the model in detail, which confused me when it came time to draw.

Of all the scribbles I made trying to understand this model, these two are the ones I liked the most; I managed to show movement in a model that barely moves in the game.

Here's the Iblis model that saved me! It's such a relief to be able to rotate this thing and know what I'm looking at!

Tip: click on the MatCap option! This will remove the "skin" of the model and leave it shading, which makes it easier to understand the model's shapes! Look at this exemplo:

You know what's best? I made that mistake too! At first, I GENUINELY thought those were how Iblis's horns work!

See this and learn! Never rely on just one reference when you want to make a faithful drawing of something!
