I took some inspiration from Troian Bellisario's nails on instagram.

Thank you all so much! I know I've been pretty lacking in posting manicures lately, but it means so much to me that 500 of you still want to follow my blog :)
Anatomically correct heart nails for Valentine's day!
Inspired by the amazing Nailed it With Glitter
Quick chevron nails while I was taking a break from painting dolls!
I apologize for the terrible quality of this picture and the state of my nail beds. I also apologize for never posting on this blog anymore. My etsy business has been crazy, and after painting dolls all day I never want to do anything to my nails. :P
I based the pattern on my accent nail after a sweater I got at Target.
Mr. Candiipants inspired floral manicure. I'm holding on to the last scraps of Summer.
My cousin wanted minion nails. It's really hard to do when their nails are freaking tiny!
Mickey and Minnie nails, featuring my mom. She wanted me to paint something for when we went to Disneyworld.
How long does it take you?
In general, it takes me an hour or two to paint my nails. But I'm also usually watching Netflix or something while I'm painting, and I'll stop to watch a scene here and there, so I don't really have an exact time frame.
about your Essie penny talk review. do you mean to mention that the polish color appears brighter on your nails than it looks in the bottle and it disappointed you specifically because it came as a surprise? because I don't own it, but it sure looks like a new penny to me in the bottle. also, streaky? it's widely understood that metallic polishes highlight the nail's natural ridges. last, 2 coats for opacity is awfully standard, so I hope you didn't mark down for that.
What I said was that the color is so light that it doesn't resemble an actual penny. This is one of the only metallic polishes I own, so I didn't know that that was "widely understood." And I didn't say anything bad about the opacity. I said that it was almost opaque with one coat, and very opaque with two. I'm not a professional nail polish reviewer or anything, I just thought it would be interesting to share my thoughts. I may be reading your tone wrong, but to me I feel like this message serves no purpose but to criticize me and that's not the kind of community I want to have on a blog I made just for a hobby.
Pippin inspired nail art!
I saw the show on Broadway a few weeks ago, and I got to go to a private question and answer session with some of the cast because my professor is friends with Terrence Mann and Charlotte d'Amboise.
I have a review of Urban Outfitters Smokin' for you today!
I picked this up when I went to New York City last month. I've only ever shopped at Urban Outfitters online, so going to the actual store was super exciting. As soon as I saw Smokin' it blew me away. It doesn't look like a normal glitter. It's impossible to show it in pictures, but each individual particle sparkles when it catches the light. It's just a really unique effect that you have to see in person. Make sure to click on the pictures to make them full size. You can see it a lot better like that. Smokin' is completely opaque in 2-3 coats, which is amazing for a glitter polish. When I put it on in New York I didn't have my topcoat with me so I was prepared to have rough nails for a few days, but the smoothness of it really surprised me! I've never been a huge fan of glitter polishes, but I have to say that this one has definitely won me over. I've been wearing it for the past couple weeks because I just don't want to wear anything other polish on my nails!
This was $5 at Urban Outfitters, and I used two coats layered over UO Virgin.
Overall, I would rate this 10/10. Very impressed.
P.S. I didn't edit these pictures at all, and I usually have to edit my cuticles a ton because they are horrible. All the credit goes to Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter. Let me know if you'd like to see a review of that soon!
Just a simple gradient using a new sheer off white color I got from Ulta. I did these to match the shirt I wore to a Mountain Goats concert. I don't have a picture of the shirt from the concert, but here's one of me and my mommy :)
I don't really know what I was going for with these. As always, I tried just painting them red and before I knew it, this happened. I'm incapable of wearing a solid color on my nails haha
My friend said they look like Indian rugs.
While I was painting all the kids' nails, my 45 year old male cousin Joey decided he wanted a Superman emblem on his thumb.
I wanted to use the water spotting technique to do some turquoise nails, but it just wasn't working for me. I couldn't get my black polish to drip into the water, and when I did, the alcohol wasn't making it spread like it was supposed to. So I had to try something different. I did a variation of the water spotting technique with some shimmery brown polish, and then I freehanded the black lines.
