I'm fairly confident that this is now the one original post I've made that has gotten the most notes, and I honestly couldn't be happier. the more attention we give this, the higher the chances that someone will see this and donate. medical debt is both one of the most crushing things a person can deal with and one of the stupidest things humanity has invented. and if you live in the US, I have no doubt that you've had to deal with medical debt in your life, either for yourself or a loved one. even a small donation can do so much good, and now is the time of year when we are encouraged to think of others.

Sick of the very obvious pattern on this website where people will rb nebulous “free Palestine!!” posts then proceed to ignore fundraisers, start discourse about the fundraisers being scams, pretend like seeing fundraisers on their dash is the most inconvenient thing to have ever happened to them. Truly asking you guys to push back against this by donating to and sharing Hazem’s fundraiser. This is another fundraiser that has been stalling for so long, despite the fact that Hazem’s siblings are all children stuck in Jabalia camp right now, alongside his parents. Part of me thinks this is because people think they’re entitled to graphic images of his and his family’s trauma in order to find it in themselves to care. That has never been and should never be a prerequisite. These are real human beings, who have dreams, fears, and futures same as you. They don’t deserve to live any less than you do, nor should you be a voyeur of their suffering. You should share and donate because it’s the right thing to do. Please donate. Please please please help Hazem's family. It breaks my heart that the donations have again dwindled down into nothing. For more than an hour now.

Just a few hours ago, the UN released a report that children are paying the "heaviest price" as the iof continues to stifle humanitarian food aid, with acute malnutrition spiking 300% between May and July in North Gaza. All five of Hazem's siblings, and thousands of children, have been living in these conditions for more than a year. Their families barely able to pay for food, let alone anything nutritious.

Just an hour ago, the iof issued more evacuation orders for Ghazzans living in northern camps, forcing them to be displaced once more. Please this simply cannot wait. I am extremely fearful of these children's safety. Please do your part in ensuring they at least have enough funds to register for evacuation, and have some food to sustain themselves until then.

RED ALERT FOR THE INTERNET: KOSA AND EARN IT ACT ARE RETURNING(2024)

These twos bills are very bad for the future of the Internet. Like..Very bad.

In a nutshell, KOSA would allow states to sue any websites that host content deemed “harmful” to minors. With such a vague wording, its expected that any nsfw or lgbt content will immediately be taken down.

Plus, it will be made mandatory to use IDs to confirm your age when going online, to so called “protect kids” but all that will cause is a huge potential data breach.

As for the Earn It Act bill, it would allow the governement to spy and filter out antyhing they dont like in private dms for any users,as well as blowing a hole into Section 230 : The thing that prevent websites from being directly liable in case a user post something illegal,instead of the user being punished directly.

I also made comics about these in the past, while the “contact your senators” bits may be outdated, I heavily encourage you to spread the word about this, as the linktrees are very interesting and useful still, especially call script wise.
