I will also that trans men or non-binary people of any agab will often also be kicked out of these shelters and housing, bc they are deemed too masculine. In the UK there are specific additions to the rules around trans people being their agab, that state trans men can be removed from women's spaces if they are deemed too masculine (this does not grant them access to male spaces)

So its not quite as simple as 'trans women are misgendered and barred, and trans men are only misgendered' bc if they can punish trans people for existing, they will do so.

how are you drawing an equivalence between men being barred from women's spaces and women being barred from women's spaces

7:31pm: roommate arrived home. task failed.

There is a type of very normalized popular humor that is quite literally just Black people existing “juxtaposed” with something that’s meant to be contradictory to…a Black person existing. Many will pretend that’s not the joke, but it is. The contrast between the Black man and shouting out a “favorite gender” being seen as conflicting is the joke. And it’s not funny. This is in the same vein as the running gag where some white people will go to a rap/hip hop show and do something like play chess in the crowd. The joke is “haha look at the juxtaposition between this Very Black thing and this Very White thing! Isn’t that hilarious? We’re so different this doesn’t even make sense xD” and these jokes suck, especially in the context of this meme in particular where the “very White thing” is….appreciating other genders. and the fact that when Black people try to talk about anything like this we are usually met with “it’s not that deep” is also a part of the problem. Anyways!!!!!

The bread machine my mom got for her wedding lasted 30 years. It's been replaced twice in the last 5 years. (How can you fuck this up?)

The cardboard tubes in the middle of toilet paper rolls have gotten larger. (This too?) Companies increasing the price of the product while selling you less. (REALLY?)

It sounds crazy. (it's the truth) When you talk about it, YOU sound crazy. (it's true)

Even when people believe you (do they really), all they can say is "it sucks". (it's too big) Because the problem is so big, so pervasive, what can we even DO about it???

To get the necessary laws written and passed, we need politicians, to get the politicians elected we need information campaigns, to fund campaigns we need money, and all the money is being hoarded by the people profiting from enshittification. (it sounds so fake)

So I talk about enshittification (it sounds crazy), so people don't forget that things have been made worse on purpose (it's true), even though I sound crazy. (maybe I am)
