Hello all, my name is Ichabod Lazarus. I am new to this… site. I suppose I can tell you about myself so we can be aquatinted.

I was born in 1723 to a middle privileged family. My father was a decent lawyer and my mother well, she’d rather lay on her backside than be helpful.

I could be old enough to your great great great grandfather or something of the sorts but don’t think too much on that.

For any more information about myself, please do ask. I shall try my best to answer your inquiries.

The door opened to reveal a well dressed male, candles littering any open ledges as well as a fire crackling in the background.

I told you. The walk is not for the weak. Do come in for a minute and rest. I'm not ready just yet. The foyer is to your left.

Oh you are a gentleman good sir! Here, for you-

(She passes him a bouquet of foxgloves and oleander)

Think nothing of it; I have far too many to keep to myself.

"Ah, thank you very much madam." He takes the flowers, giving them a sniff. A small smile shows on his lips. "These are beautiful. They'd go well in my room." Ichabod said as he walked away to put the flowers in a vase, disappearing in the darkness. He only came back once he had grabbed a few items from his room. It wasn't much but it was a small giftbox containing a brooch and a single flower. "This is for you. A date is not such with out the traditional gift giving."

O-oh my, Mister Lazarus, I-I'm flattered, but that was not my intention!

(She fiddles with her necklace nervously)

It's lovely, but I couldn't possibly-

“Oh dear, my apologies. I must’ve misunderstood your intentions. Well, even if it’s not a date, take these. A token of a budding friendship.”

He mused, still holding the box.

“I can promise that they came from my collection of antiques. If I remember correctly, it came from a lady with a wish that it be met with another lady who would give it as much love as she gave it.”

Ichabod confirmed, watching Blanche.

Though I must ask how you kept it preserved for so long-

“I heard that salt can help preserve flowers if done correctly. I took my time with it. I’m very methodical when it comes to small projects like that.”

Ichabod responded, smiling a bit. He walked over to the foyer, sitting down on one of his chairs.

“It’s still a bit early so why don’t we chat here? Even the sunset can still hurt me without proper protection.”

Ah... I've always been one for growing, rather than preserving. I will have to practice this- perhaps the start of an arrangement.

(She takes a seat, smiles and pulls off her veil and hat, stows her parasol)

Ichabod asks, leaning back as he got comfortable. He kept his eyes on the lady but would occasionally look away to watch the fire, taking in the warmth.

(She reopens the box, inspecting the brooch, admiring it's beauty.)

We tend to be more hospitable than our purer counterparts... at least in my experience...

(Then she looks up at him)

And you have been a gracious host

“Why thank you. Our purer counterparts here are well.. Not something to be messed with.”

Ichabod replied, letting out a sigh, a look of disgust on his face as he was starting to recount the night he got turned. His face soon turned back into a soft look when he noticed that Blanche was looking at him.

“Many thanks, madam. It seems that the sun has fully disappeared, shall we be on our way?”

Ah, finally! Free at last!

(She rises, and extends a hand)

I'll lead the way then? It's along fifth avenue, a little ways from here - and it seems to almost cater to our kind, frankly. You wouldn't believe the owner was skeptic...

Ichabod took her hand and stood, smiling.

“Oh? Thant sounds interesting. I can’t wait to try what the owner has to offer.”

He wiped off the nonexistent dirt from his lap before blowing out a few candles and going to the front door to open it up for Blanche.

“After you, M’lady.”

(She stands, steps out, and pulls a parasol from God knows where)

What lovely manners you have

He joked, laughing a bit.

I’m not sure how this is to be interpreted but if you were to give me wine, you may be invited in opposed to flowers but if you’re inviting me out to wine with flowers, I’d surely oblige.

Thoughts on the stars?

The stars are always lovely. When I go out, I cannot help but admire the twinkling lights above. If the night is not too cold or hot, I will sit outside and watch the stars and moon.

Hi!! Of course! Ichabod is always in need of friends despite lowkey being a hater 😭

So my interpretation on vampirism for Ichabods world is that vampires can still eat human food if turned but full blooded ones cannot. Alcohol also makes them react quicker due to their heightened senses.

Despite Ichabod being turned, he was obviously a human and only knew human things but becoming a vampire he had to change his sleeping habits (He once burned himself when he got up one morning), trying to like the taste of blood (He uses wine to wash down the metallic taste), and trying not to look out of place when he’s out at night.

He also doesn’t cook so he relies on the blood from his victims and most likely a meal from the winery near him.

If he were to die by a persons hand, it only takes a wooden cross although since he did not inherit any powers, he tries to stay away from humans and getting caught by anyone against the supernatural.

He doesn’t have to be invited in but he appreciates the thought and would probably laugh at it.

With his heightened sense of smell, garlic only makes him nauseous.

With mirrors, only his outfit or if he’s holding something would appear.

I am also very forgetful and may accidentally say something that isn’t accurate to his lore/world.

I was not born a vampire. While I was out one night, I must’ve gotten so drunk I stumbled into an alley way and passed out. The next thing I knew I was in a house with a stranger. They said they can show me a new world, grant me everlasting life.

I was still rather tipsy during this time and told this stranger I didn’t want it. I had begged to leave, wanting to go back home but I was denied. I was forced to stay with that wretched man, learning things and doing things I didn’t want to do.

Thankfully he’s dead now. The old crone got seen trying to feed.
