-->Ichika, adult, anime fan, fujoshi, pro-fic/proship. I draw/write and may post/link them here. Multifandom blog. I like to ramble about stuff I like so many of my posts end up being more like essays. If you ever find me blocking you, please block back thanks. ANTIS PLEASE DNI.<--
More for myself so I don’t forget. Subbing to all of them would flood my notifs and I won’t get to watch stuff from other channels I subbed to.
Also, like every streaming site out there, the shows are subject to availability by region/country so there are stuff that’s not available to some of us even if it’s on their channel (unless you use something like VPN).
Due to the length of this post (as I update when I find other channels), I’ll place the links under a read more.

@changes Tumblr. Get rid of the whole "reblog chains get their own notes" thing. This is TERRIBLE for artists, and anyone who wants to keep track of reblogs/likes/comments.
I don't know why you're even breaking something that works fine? Could you PLEASE put that effort to better use for features users actually want? Here's a couple to get you started:
- A mute option for users (not just block)
- Option to completely hide blacklisted posts (no "this post contains XYZ you've blacklisted", just don't show anything)
- A functioning search bar for our individual blogs
- Organizable portfolio pages for artists, if you're feeling frisky
Tumblr, you've got a good thing going for you. Give us a functioning website, ditch the bigotry (we see you bullying trans users and sex workers), and you've got a fully untapped market of users who are happy to give you money for optional premium services. Look at how happy users were to give Discord money back when they were an actually ethical company. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Tiktok have all gone to shit--this is prime opportunity to dominate a market that's STARVING for good social media.
Just listen to us and deliver what we want. It's that easy.
I've seen the new trailers (and in Japanese dub) of the Who Made Me A Princess donghua and I'm freaking excited! I hope they give Athy a lot of different outfits cause she wears so many in the manhwa.
I've been reading the novel version of Tapas (it's on hiatus at the moment for some reason though? And they're already in the side stories so I'm not sure what's going on) and I wish the donghua version takes the best parts out of both the novel and the manhwa version. The manhwa version had a bit more solid plot but there were really good stuff in the novel that I wish they kept it (and some parts of the novel that did make it in was shortened).
I hope they animate the side stories as well. The current translated chapters on Tapas is the side story where Athy got transported to the world of the original Lovely Princess novel. It's really funny to see her try to imitate that world's Athy when LP!Athy disappeared cause she kinda sucked at it. She gets pissed off like Claude does and when she's pushed to the limit, she ends up retaliating (which LP!Athy was too timid to do). It's hilarious!
Anyways, here's hoping they add the Lucathy moments from the novel.
My brother's old laptop which I have been using for a long time (since my own laptop used to be slow) stopped working and in an attempt to fix it, the repairman had to format the hard drive making it lose all of it's saved content. Including stuff I have saved.
I'm so upset and just sad. There were free indie games there that are no longer available now (either the devs took them down cause they were planning to make a new updated one or the devs had been inactive and the site that had the files no longer worked). There was a game there I got that's commercial that the devs released for free for just one day during Covid.
And also, lots of fanart. So much fanart I saved up just to look at whenever I want to feel happy. I tried looking for them again but either the artists deleted them or the artists deleted their accounts and I don't know which site(s) they migrated to or their tumblr accounts have been purged during the tumblr porn ban (and that was years ago!). I don't even remember the artists' names so I can't try to google them.
(The most fanarts I lost were of Creek, MikaYuu and JoshNeku. I found some of the artists who have their own sites but others... *cries*)
Not gonna lie, I hate the word "unalive" due to how it's currently being used. There are so many other euphemisms and ways to say someone died that sounds more respectful than that.
Anyways, I couldn't help but think what being "unalive" is when there's also the word "undead". Undead is used for beings who are basically "live corpses" like vampires, zombies, mummies, etc. - dead bodies who move like they're still alive but they are corpses. And then, it hit me - doesn't the word "unalive" describe the characters of TWEWY?
The reapers and players are all just souls who can take on a live form - the reapers can manifest themselves in the RG anytime and the players can do the same when in marked areas - and at that point they could interact with anyone and anything in the living world. But if they die in that state, they'd probably just disappear cause they're just souls - there's no corpse. Their actual dead bodies have probably been buried or cremated at that point. So in the moment these souls manifest as "alive" in the living world, I guess in a way they're "unalive": living ghost like the "undead" living corpses.
I dunno where I was going with this but Happy Anniversary to The World Ends with You! I wish I could've made something better but my laptop broke lol.
My Thoughts on "Your Majesty, Please Spare Me This Time"
I decided to read this after seeing some recommendations and the story seemed interesting. It's almost complete as it seems the main story is done and I guess the rest is just them trying to tie up loose ends. Even if it's not very complete, I just thought I'd make a post since the main part is over anyways.
Story:
Laliette Isabelle de Bellua's entire family is killed under false allegations on the orders of the new emperor, Rupert Edgar Laspe Vellelum. After her own execution, Laliette wakes up to find herself back to her 12 year old self! With another chance at life to save her family, her only plan is to become Rupert's attendant and get close enough to him so he would spare them in the future - however, the future emperor is still masquerading as the cruel Princess Rapertte. Would she be able to pull it off and change her future?
Characters:
Laliette Isabelle de Bellua - Our heroine who got executed in the original timeline and finds heself back in the past. Her main goal is to become someone important to Prince Rupert so that he won't kill her and her family in the future. Her family is the most important to her and would do anything to protect them. She is sheltered by her family and would soon find that things aren't what they seem.
Rupert Edgar Laspe Vellelum - also known as Princess Rapertte as he's hiding his true identity for safety. Mean and can be kind of cruel, it took a while for him to warm up to Laliette but he is protective of those he deem precious to him. Despite becoming the cruel tyrant in the future, the younger Rupert has a kind and lonely side to him which confuses Laliette. How is this person the same as the one who had her killed?
Tori Fassbender - Rupert's attendant who became the tragic empress in the first timeline as she was soon killed by Rupert himself. She's kind and friendly and seem to be close to Rupert which makes her future death a mystery. She becomes fast friends with Laliette and helps her with work.
Lehan Dietrich Bellua - Laliette's younger brother who joined the military. He has exceptional abilities but can be a bit of a troublemaker. He is close to his sister and Laliette aims to protect thim this time around. He takes after their father and seem to know more than he let on.
I'm only introducing these four ^_^
Thoughts:
About the comis itself, the art is really pretty! Everyone looks good and the faces they make in comedic scenes are funny. When it comes to art I have no complaints. I don't know how to explain this but while the story doesn't feel rushed, the pacing feels off sometimes? Like, I'm used to cliffhangers but many chapters in this comic felt like they ended in the middle of a scene. It's like the scene shouldn't have ended yet but it's just cut off and continues to the next chapter. It's weird as I've never come across something like this before.
Speaking of pacing, the timeline is confusing. The characters look grown up after a while which makes me think there's a huge time skip only to be told that only a few weeks or months have passed since a previous scene. You're telling me these guys had several growth spurts within a year? And they happened a few weeks/months apart from each other? It just felt strange haha.
The story itself was really fun to read! So many interesting things happened and there are mysteries to be solved as well and when the truth comes out, it felt like I just had to know what happens next. It was pretty exciting! The romance took a while to get there as it's a slow burn but once it does get there, it's sweet.
Spoilers!
My other thoughts on the story will be specific so there'd be spoilers.
I have read so many comics recently with the protagonist either getting turned into a character from a series they're familiar with or they come back to life several years in the past. Their main goals end up similar which is make things better using their knowledge of future events. They usually show off their skills and with the future info they have, they usually come off as some kind of genius.
Well, not in this story though.
Laliette does have information of some future events but it's not enough and her main and only plan is to get close to Rupert so that he won't kill them someday. There were no future events that she needs to fix by being some kind of genius and she's just hoping her words reach Rupert so he won't make mistakes. After everything that happened, she ended up supporting Rupert's goal of becoming emperor but she's going to make sure he becomes a kinder one. She's technically banking on the power of love and friendship to change him lol.
I like this as it's a refreshing plot after all of the others I was reading - no hate to them as I'm still reading and enjoying them. It's just too much of something isn't fun and I like it when some things are done differently.
I like Laliette's character! She doesn't have much in terms of planning but she doesn't give up. She gets scared but she keeps on going. She hates Rupert but couldn't help but want to help him especially once she learns more about him. The mystery part of the story is due to her lack of information. It was fun watching her piece together all of the information she's learning while trying to connect them to the events of the original future she's experienced.
Rupert is one of those good-looking bad boy types with a tragic backstory. He can be a jerk cause of his situation but once he does warm up to Laliette, he becomes kinder and later kind of a dork lol. I love how their relationship started with them not liking each other and being passive agressive to their interactions becoming more like friendly bantering. It continued until they grew older too which made reading their interactions cute and funny.
Tori! If this was a typical villainess story, Tori would be the heroine who was originally meant for the male lead and in some twists of those stories, the heroine turns out to actually be evil. In the case of Tori, she is and she isn't that. She was created for a purpose that slowly disappeared as Laliette continued to change the new timeline and becomes a positive influence on Rupert. She wants to make things go the same way as the original timeline and hates Laliette for getting in her way but she also cares about Laliette. She's a complicated character with an equally complicated relationship with the others. I usually either feel satisfaction or pity when antagonistic heroines die but with Tori, I just felt sadness. It was something I didn't want to happen. I wanted her to be happy, too.
I like the dynamic between Laliette, Rupert, and Tori. They hate each other especially in the case of Lali and Rupert who knows it, internally acknowledges how the other felt about them. When Rupert finally accepted Lali, he continued to ignore or hide the fact that he knew she hated him (Lali could not mask her expressions lol). Tori liked and hated the two in her own way as well but they are happy when they're all together. They're a mess but they are capable of enjoying each other's company. It was painful to see Lali and Rupert grieving when Tori passed away.
Oh my god, Lehan! The Bellua's aren't as innocent as they appeared which Laliette unfortunately find out over the course of the story. She finds out she was adopted but it was no big deal for her as she felt loved by her family and she loved them back. They were her world and all of the hardships she went through was for them. It was the rest of the secret that ruined everything and Lehan, her dear little brother is part of it.
The Bellua's never saw her as family (at least not the way she saw them) and she was just a part of their grand plan. She is actually a princess and the rightful heir to the throne and her father's plan was to start a revolution and make her the ruler. Her father also didn't see her entirely as his child and think what would make her a real part of their family by having her marry Lehan. And Lehan knew this the entire time.
Don't get me wrong, I like incest ships. These two are adoptive siblings so they would've been more likely for me to ship but like everything else, this depends on the story. I don't ship them as that relationship is part of the fucked up plan that made Laliette miserable. Also, she firmly put Lehan in the little brother-zone and I think she's an awesome big sister!
Alright, back to what I was talking about with her family. When her family died in the original timeline, she was devastated. She felt horrible and guilty for being unable to do anything and when she went back in time, she is still haunted by the events of the terrible future she lived in. This time she went through so much just to make sure her family lives and even bought a place for them to escape to. She told her father the truth about her time traveling and the tragic future she came from. She told them that all she wanted was for all of them to live.
And what did they do? They went ahead and planned the rebellion anyways and this time using the future information she gave her father in order to deal with any issues. It's like they threw away all of her hard work. And the worst part was that they also planned to make her the new ruler without telling her about it. It's something she didn't want but they didn't care. Her life is a lie not because she's adopted but because her family didn't care about her the way she thought they did (except the mom). Lehan's insistence on pursuing her romantically despite her rejection became annoying to watch cause it was like he doesn't understand her feelings and where she's coming from at all. Made much worse as his death seem to be what completely broke Lali in the original timeline as it continued to haunt her and she felt guilty that she wasn't able to save her beloved little brother and now she finds out he never felt the same way about her and would betray her by helping nearly throw away all of her hard work for their family's survival.
The only good thing that came out of his obsession is that when Lali left, Lehan was able to help Rupert find her again. Anyways, I liked that she stood her ground til the end. She didn't completely disregard him as family and he's still important to her but tells him that they can't get along if he insist on being a romantic interest. But if he accepts her as a sister again, she's willing to give him a chance as family.
The dad was iredeemable and not even their time together could make him love for her as a family and as a person. He cared about her but not enough to make him stop trying to use her. Even his wife realized this and there was no complaints from her when he got imprisoned. At least the mom loved Lali as her child and in the end was the only family member to still be close to her when the story ended.
Rupert/Laliette pair progressed nicely. Lali was able to change Rupert and his future but this is less "I can fix him" and more Lali preventing permanent damage in the first place. Once she knew more about Rupert, she realized that this is a case of a villain being created cause he wasn't as bad as his future self when he was younger. Lali might not have started being nice to him without ulterior motives at first but she genuinely does start caring about him later and feeling confused and conflicted by how she felt about him cause of her thoughts on his present and (former) future self. He acknowledges this when he found out about the time travel thing and he apologized to Lali for the actions of his alternate timeline self as he knows and accepts that he's capable of doing those things even if he no longer would in this reality.
I enjoyed the "mystery" part of this story. I mentioned earlier that Laliette doesn't know a lot of information which is natural as she was sheltered and she really couldn't have known a lot of things people would keep a secret. In the main story when she finally left home and knew more about the outside world is when she was able to figure out almost what exactly happened in the original timeline. As we see her POV, the audience also only knew what she knew and the truth was a nice surprise not just for her but for us, too.
The story ended nicely, I feel although some stuff felt like they happened a bit too quickly. I do hope for some extra stuff/epilogue cause there were stuff I felt like still needed closure. Like, Riche was mean and in the end wasn't a good friend to Lali but I still felt bad for her fate. The last part of the comic did say the main story has ended + a "To be Continued" so I hope it means there's a bit more side stories to come.
Well, that's all I have to say about this, I guess? At least maybe for now. If I end up thinking about things longer, maybe this post would've become longer than it already is lol. Thanks for reading!
I was searching for otome games on itch and found "ReWound 101" there with new art. I was confused and surprised and checked and holy fuck, it's real! There's finally an update after all these years!
I loved the original version of the game I played years ago. It's one of my favorites and the first Filipino otoge I ever played so it's got a very special place in my heart. Demo is out and I think this one is in English but I'm gonna wait for the full version.
"Ano, What? Why, Bakit?" was also fun to play and I'm also excited for the new version of it. I'll be playing the new version once it comes out, too.
I'll also be playing any new game this developer makes.
I just needed to fangirl about this cause I got super excited.
Would it be possible for you to upload some of your old Joshua June art? Only if you are comfortable doing that. Thank you very much!
Anon, I know what you mean, but when I first read "Joshua June" it put this cursed image in my head that I'm now obligated to share -
(If you don't understand, I apologize)
In all seriousness though, it's no problem at all - but are there any in particular you remember that you'd like to see? I believe I posted two years' worth on the old acc, that's sixty drawings ahaha... I suppose I could queue them up in batches, if you like?
Earn enough money and you can buy back your entry fee - and your life.
(Neku was killed by a lightning strike during a freak typhoon, by the way)
Bonus: Another Day
Once you beat the game you unlock the endless mode AU in which Neku's lifelong dream was to be a farmboy. The plotline is a wacky isekai parody that involves a nonsense timeskip and then you can marry him to your favorite partner or whatever
Okay, not gonna lie, I was too lazy and then stuff happened and I ended up having to read this chapter in another site cause I was too late to read it in mangaplus. (;-;)
Yuu-chan and Mika are hunting bears to eat. I don't know how to feel about this at all since it feels weird to think about people eating bears but I'm just gonna ignore it.
They took down 3 bears, by the way.
While the two are getting ready to cook, they reminisce on the past on the last day Mika was human. Specifically, the day of their failed escape from Sanguinem. Mika wasn't at dinner time with them, if you guys remember, as he was at Ferid's gathering items and so they ate without him.
Yuu-chan tells him the kids wished that Mika was there to enjoy the food with them and Mika teases him that of course the others wouldn't enjoy it as much without the main character lol.
Mika is surprisingly being optimistic now, as Yuu-chan have noticed. He says once they bring the kids back to life and he's back to being human they can all eat curry together again.
Yuu-chan asks for help in butchering the meat and Mika declines as he has some strategizing to do haha.
The two talk over dinner about what they know. Their plan is to get all the sinful keys and bring back to life angel Mikaela. Guren and Ferid have the same plans but instead, Guren just wants to just bring everyone else back except Mikaela.
lol I needed to save this screenshot here. They're wondering what Ferid's plan is and Yuu-chan says nobody knows what goes on in Ferid's head and it might be something really weird. XD
They also discuss the reality of the situation that the Mikaela that Guren wants to keep dead is actually Yuu-chan cause he and homonculus Yuu just switched places before. It means if Guren wins, Yuu-chan might have to die.
With those information in mind, things have changed. Mika is no lon ger hesitant about what he should do and no longer thinking of sacrificing himself since the one the others need to sacrifice is actually Yuu-chan. Mika says he doesn't really care about anything else except protecting Yuu-chan so it's all good.
Mika has become the happy, not-giving-up guy now between the two of them and the one who has to reassure Yuu-chan that he'd be protecting him. Previously, this was Yuu-chan's attitude in convincing Mika back when they didn't know the truth. Mika is acting more like himself when he was a kid.
Mika was surprised Yuu-chan didn't offer to sacrifice himself and Yuu-chan replies that he's still confused about which of them is which. They also noticed that angel Mikaela was smart back then but Yuu-chan is-
Yuu-chan cuts of Mika and says he's smarter now. Mika sacrcastically agreed lol. Come on, we all know he lost braincells when he locked away his memories as angel Mikaela but to be fair, he was in a hurry at the time and probably didn't have enough time to keep some important stuff.
The confusion keeps going and so are these two's identity crisis. Who is who and which one dies when they finally get their goal? Is Yuu-chan gonna keep being himself once he's back to being angel Mikaela? Yuu-chan doesn't mind but Mika doesn't want to lose his Yuu-chan. And Yuu-chan wouldn't want Mika to disappear either if it's the other way around.
The First Progenitor's goal is to bring all of the angels back. Guren's goal is to bring all of humanity back. Angel Mikaela's goal was to save the First Progenitor which means they have to help the guy with his goal as well. And it would all end with someone getting punished by God.
Yuu-chan's new goal: not let that happen. Yes, like an rpg protagonist, he'd be opposing God now.
Of course, Mika has to get the reassurance that Yuu-chan is counting himself in the people he's planning to save. Yuu-chan says he's not going to sacrifice himself and he knows Mika could find a way to make things work out.
It'd be very hypocritical of Yuu-chan if he decides to die for everyone's sake when several chapter ago, he's the one trying to convince Mika to not do that exact thing.
Anyways, the two of them make a promise to each other that no matter what happens, neither of them would sacrifice themselves for everyone else. At least, Yuu-chan is making it sound like that. He's letting Mika do all the talking and when it comes to his part in making the promise, he changes subjects and Mika doesn't notice...
Yuu-chan asks if Mika could come up with a plan since all of their enemies are pretty smart: there's Guren, Mahiru, Shika Madu, Saito and Ferid (I'm surprised they knew exactly which other people are leading their own little operation). Mika says it's fine since they have someone smart on their side, too! And Yuu-chan says that would be him lol.
Since angel Mika gave his memories to homonculus Yuu to keep up the ruse, he probably also gave away his braincells. Yuu-chan should just accept that Mika has them now lol.
They know that right now, they're the only two who knows of the switch. They need to sacrifice angel Mikaela and none of them knows that Yuu-chan is the real one. Mika and Yuu-chan have to use this to their advantage.
What would the first part of their plan be, you ask? Going to the Demon Army HQ to talk to Saito, it seems.
______
Holy shit what the fuck is happening in the end there? Are they collaborating? Yuu-chan and Mika's goal have a bit more in common with Saito's and the Progenitor team so this kinda makes sense? They plan to save humanity, kill all vampires (the progenitors just want to die right now after all), and not let Shika Madu do exactly as he pleases.
I am excited to see where this would be going. Mika and Yuu-chan don't plan on letting anyone know the truth after all.
Aaaah!! Mika's acting like his happy and mischevious kid self again. His depression seem to have left since he found out that he's not the real angel Mikaela and therefore not the reason all of this shit is happening. Yuu-chan on the other hand doesn't smile as much anymore. Kind of sad this is how things are going as I want both of them to be happy. I'm glad they still have their silly moments and stupid banter though. They're so cute!
Knowing the switch doesn't confuse me but these two and their discussion made things seem so complicated. I'm now feeling half as confused as I was when I watched Patema Inverted and couldn't tell which is up and down anymore hahaha.
Yuu-chan's goal was to bring back everyone who died and then he adds bringing Mika back to life as a human, and then saving everyone, and now he's fighting God. It's escalating! It sounds so ridiculous but this is how it be. Yuu-chan is not Yuu-chan if he doesn't aim for a miracle.
Angel Mika's switch with Homonculus Yuu makes Yuu-chan and Mika's personalities feel trippy. The happy and smart angel Mika locked his memories away and sort of gave a copy of them to homonculus Yuu so they could properly act out their new roles. Purposely reincarnated to who they are now, Mika as a child was happy and smart and you really would think he's the real angel. The failed escape happens and Mika as a vampire is just quietly observing things and just wants to be with Yuu - just like how his past self as a homunculus was. Now that the truth is known, he's back to having the persoanlity of hius younger self which is a sort of copy of the real angel Mika's personality.
Putting all that in text made me understand why those two are confused.
Excited for the next chapter! I'm so glad there's another site I could read these on and they have the chapters I could backread as well! I'm still gonna read the new chapters in mangaplus to support the original creators and official release but at least I don't have to worry about missing anything just in case something happens and I miss a month.
I am just dreading to make this since tumblr's post editor updated to being a pain the ass to use lol. I can't just not blog about reading OnS chapters cause it's the only way I can "re-read" them when they become unavailable. Why have the scanlators stopped working on this, I'd never know but I'm sad they don't seem to be around anymore for this manga (I mean I'd still read stuff on mangaplus but if I want to backread at least I'd have a way...).
While Yuu-chan and Mika are having a chat and probably some potential existensial crisis, Rigr seem to be checking out the 1st Progenitor's memories.
Would you look at that? He got there at the exact point in the memory world that Yuu-chan and Mika last watched! How convenient lol.
Rigr now knows about Shika Madu's past.
The reincarnated angels don't remember their past lives but it seems Shika Madu is okay with them living unaware of it. After all, tragic backstories and all.
Rigr now knowing the truth, it seems he now cares about the 1st Progenitor. Shika Madu might be an asshole but he still cares about his angel subjects even after all this time. He knows it would be difficult and he might not be able to succeed but he's not going to give up hope.
It makes me wonder more what his plan is in the present since he seems to be fucking over those he says he cares about.
Anyways, Rigr ends up crying even if he doesn't have his past life memories which made him wonder if those memories still lie within him somewhere.
I'm not gonna lie, I have no idea what to call him now that it's revealed he's the real Mika. Anyways, he was finally noticed by Shika Madu which is bad cause he has a plan.
Angel Mika is alive now and he needs to make his father think he's still dead so he asks homonculus!Yuu to take his place. He'd even forget his real identity to make things more convincing.
"No matter how many eons it takes... no matter how many generations we go through... in the end, we'll save everybody!" declared human Yuu whose actually the real angel Mika (this is gonna be confusing lol. I'm calling him Past!Yuu). It didn't matter how long it took and what the circumstances have become, Yuu-chan has always wanted to save everyone no matter when and it's always been his goal.
(I wish I could take the screenshot of when he said this but it's hard to crop with the length)
Homonculus!Yuu seems hesitant at first but he happily agreed with Past!Yuu's plan and he's now the new Mika.
New!Mika (yes, I'm not calling him that) is given his first task for his newest role. I'm guessing the "seven lights" are the black keys? Maybe? Anyways, he basically made it so that his father would do a bunch of detours before getting to his goal lol.
Past!Yuu erased (although more like locked away) his memories of being Angel Mika. He promises New!Mika that no matter what, he'd come back and collect him and New!Mika happily promises back.
Beams of light shoot out from New!Mika and Shika Madu catches one of them. On his hand he finds one of the black keys (I was right earlier! lol). He thinks homonculus!Yuu might've done something but basically thinks "Nah, I made him and he can't think for himself." so he turns his attention to Past!Yuu.
Past!Yuu acts like he knows nothing (either he's acting or the memory lock worked too well) and Shika Madu doesn't buy it and checks his memories which kills Past!Yuu in the process. Shika Madu confirms that Past!Yuu totally knows noting (lol if only you knew).
Shika Madu laments the fragility of the humans he created as he estimated that they might not even live to be a hundred.
Shika Madu doesn't realize that close by, Past!Yuu aka the real Angel Mika had been reborn again.
Aww!! A proper reunion between Mika and Yuu! Yuu-chan had fullfilled his promise! They still don't actually have their past life memories but they're okay with it as they think it'd have been bad if they actually did all this time. After all, it took this long to get this far in their plans and they went through so much that if they remembered everything, it'd have made them suffer more and give up.
They're reminded of the vampires who hated being immortal cause it caused them suffering.
These two are now having a discussion on the meaning of (their) life. They wonder why they should keep going and why Yuu-chan should make Mika human again. Mika answers that he wants to live and die with Yuu-chan (aww... that's so sweet!). Yuu-chan asks if that'd really make Mika happy and Mika says he thinks so.
Mika is slowly but surely turning into a full demon and Yuu-chan says he won't let it happen. Yuu-chan concludes that they don't clearly remember their past lives and they'd continue living this life and would try to reach their present lives goal: save everyone (especially the dead Hyakuya orphans and Guren and their friends) and turn Mika back to human.
Hope restored! Yuu-chan likens their current situation to a video game and thinks that they have a chance now that they know the lore. Mika agrees!
Their current goal? Get the seven keys!
Oh!! Flashback to eight years ago!
Ferid is wondering why the First Progenitor wants to make a "Mikaela" and what even is a "Mikaela" in the first place. He says he wasn't compatible to become this Mikaela and the First Progenitor himself cannot be whatever it was.
He also got his hands on little Yuu-chan and Mika (they were drugged and were sound asleep) to check their memories. Someone else is there with Ferid however...
Ferid asked Guren if Guren had checked the kids' memories and he hasn't yet.
Oh... what does this mean?!
--
That last panel though. Guren looked weird lol. Had their chins always been this round/big? I mean I knew the illustrator's artstyle had changed over the years as this manga had been running for a long time now but this is the first time I really notice. I don't like it lol. Makes them look weird and old. I might not like Guren that much but I have to admit he's handsome and this? Not at all lol.
Okay! We got the lore!! I'm happy and excited and this feels like the most hilarious development I've seen in this story in a while. Angel Mika is smart and immediately have some kind of starting plan for his goal. Sadly, it seems turning himself into Yuu-chan also lowered his braincells lol jk. It seems no one else in this metaphorical chess game realized that someone they wanted to take as pawn is also playing the game.
Guren and Shika Madu totally fucked up their plans all because they were targetting the wrong kid! Especially Guren who had been with Yuu-chan longer in this current life cause his actions in the last couple of chapters made Yuu-chan reject helping him. I think if Yuu-chan had gotten back his memories of being Angel Mika and if Guren knew about this fact, Guren probably would've had a better chance of convincing Yuu-chan to sacrifice himself since Yuu-chan's goal in life (both the past and present) was to save everyone including Mika.
Oh, ther irony! XD
This isn't a perfect story, I admit. I don't think this turn of events had been hinted before (if it had been, then it's my fault I missed all the clues) but I don't care. I'm still having a lot of fun reading.
Mika telling Yuu-chan once again that he'd just want them to live together until the end made me sooo happy! Ah, it's times like these I'm happy to be a MikaYuu fan haha. I remember that in the PSP game, they did mention this also with Mika and Yuu wanting to live and raise kids together. (>///<)
I'm curious now about what Shika Madu is actually feeling about all this in the present. He did care a lot about everyone back then but now it doesn't seem to be the case and he's willing to sacrifice the other vampires just to get his son back. But then again knowing that he could just have them reincarnated, maybe he's okay with sacrificing the current them cause he can just make new bodies for the vampires.
Also wondering why Shika Madu kept remaking the Yuu from Ancient Greece. Did he realize there's something special about this new human? Did he realize that in a way, this was the human form of the homonculus eyeball (actually Angel Mika)? Or did he just think of making a human version of homonculus Yuu cause it'd be easier to experiment on something like him which he could just remake? I wonder if it's the reason why Yuu from Ancient Greece didn't have emotions while the new humans created in the past had personalities or seemingly could have one even before getting possessed by angels?
Also, Shika Madu's tragic backstory is enough to make Rigr sympathize or at least care about him though. I wonder how this would affect things as Rigr hated the First Progenitor and was willing to oppose him. How about now?
That ending there though. What did Ferid mean by "Have you looked into their memories?" when talking to Guren? Vampires have now been revealed to be able to read memories - Rigr and Shika Madu did so earlier and Ferid says he would at the end although I think I should've seen this coming since vampires turn into demons and demons have that ability. Does the question mean Guren also have that power? How?? Or is it Mahiru-no-Yo's power their talking about since she's now Guren's demon? Hmmm..... but then again, didn't they mention a connection between the Ichinose clan and Rigr?
Oh my god, so many questions! XD
I'm so glad I didn't end up taking too many photos cause tumblr had a photo limit for posts and I didn't hit that. Excited for the next chapter! Hope it's as fun as this one.
If I don't get to post anything in the next few days, here's a Happy Holidays to you! I hope you have fun and thanks for reading. :)
Tumblr making it hard to make a post also made me too lazy to make this. But I want and need to make this cause this is the only way I could do a "read back" of sorts for chapters no longer accessible in mangaplus. Ugh tumblr wtf stop with the stupid updates!
Anyways, title of this chapter is "The First Vampire". More lore stuff!
The others have now realized that their king might have done a very bad thing.
Shika Madu utters an apology to everyone as large, powerful bolts of light destroy the tower.
An angel appears to tell Shika Madu of God's disappointment at what has been done. Shika Madu pleads and ask he be the only one to suffer as the other had nothing to do with the ritual he was trying to do but the angel said Earth is also done for and with a snap of his fingers, what appears to be balls of fire started raining down.
Amon gets saved by another angel while someone else tells him to go to where their king is. Even after everything, they still see Shika Madu's safety as their top priority. Everyone else around Amon is dying from the rain of fire as he runs of to get to their king.
Shika Madu is angry at what's happening but he is told he could only blame himself for this. He still pleads for everyone else to be spared but it doesn't work as he's told that even their souls would be left to suffer in hell.
Oh, and one last cruel thing the angel does is leave Amon alive just to kill him in front of Shika Madu to show the latter how much he fucked up. When everyone else had finally been killed, the angel tells the others to focus their lightning solely on Shika Madu.
After everything he'd been through and while he's still being burned in lightning, Shika Madu asked to just be killed. Unfortunately, he's informed that he's now basically immortal so he could suffer alone for eternity.
With their jobs finished, the others leave for Paradise. Shika Madu has a message to be passed on to God but he's denied and told that as a sinner, his words would never reach God's ears.
And so Shika Madu was left to burn... and burn.
There's like two timeskips: one says a millenia has passed and another just said "more time...". Shika Madu thinks it's been tens of thousands of years. In the end he's just... sitting there burning until he finally accepted what he's done to deserve all this.
Something happened and he started to feel better and even used his power to shieled himself from the sunlight.
And homonculus Yuu is alive! He saw everything (he didn't show up until now though, wtf?). Shika Madu still plans on bringing everyone back from the dead but he now has no tower to collect the light he needed and even if he did, he's an undead now so he can't use the power of light anymore.
Homonculus Yuu also still has angel Mikaela in a coffin and it's revealed Shika Madu had some kind of backup plan: all the power he needed? Mikaela has them in the form of keys (the ones Ferid was collecting in the present time) but in order to use them, Mikaela has to be revived first.
He then decided to play God since it's the only way to collect the darkness he needed (like how God has the angels to collect light). Using homonculus Yuu, he created a human as he can't make angels.
I guess this would be the first "Yuu-chan"?
Mika and Yuu are here! I guess they weren't there the entire time (That'd have been boring to watch just one guy burn for a millenia). They're confused as well if the homonculus Yuu is Yuu-chan's first incarnation or if it's the newly created human.
Another one popped out and this one looks like a Mika except it's a girl it seems.
And then more were created.
Shika Madu uses his power so that the souls of the dead angels would occupy the new humans as he'd need them to collect darkness.
The new human Yuu sees angel Mikaela's coffin looks inside. He then starts to answer as if he's talking to someone. Mika and Yuu sees this and realized something but looking back, it seems Shika Madu himself hasn't noticed yet.
The new Yuu finds out that his new friend is dead and can't play with him.
Mika and Yuu are confused as to how the other two could converse. Mika thinks that since this is part of Yuu's memories, Yuu should know what the other two are talking about. Yuu is having trouble though and the newborn Yuu says something... unexpected.
It seems angel Mikaela told him to let himself get possessed or something and the newborn Yuu says yes without hesitation.
Once past Yuu gets possessed, current Yuu finally remembers: he's Mikaela.

Tumblr's new post editor is making things so difficult. I have trouble rearranging the images and coupled with a faulty mouse, I was about to lose my patience lol.
Okay, I felt bad for Shika Madu, not gonna lie. He did care a lot for his subjects and would've wanted to get punished on his own but of course, he's the king so everyone under him would get in trouble, too. That last one was also cruel with the other angel letting Amon get close enough for Shika Madu to watch him die.
Was the dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures die in that rain of fire? Is this how the lore of our planet went in this universe? lol
So he gets punished by being left an immortal who burns in the sun. It seems he's been continuously burning for years, too (I found the timeskip funny, I'm sorry. Also, did it never become nighttime at all where he is?). He finds a way to finally become immune for a bit (like a magic sunscreen) and so he's become a "vampire" in a way (no word on if he nees blood yet here).
He ends up creating humans as he's not permitted to create angels like God does. At first I thought this might mean he's the "God" of this world's humans but he knows what humans are before he made some so there are probably humans who already existed at this point and he just mass produced more for his own need.
There's multiple Yuus now. It'd be confusing if the next couple of chapters would still show the past so if it ever happens, I'm gonna have to use nicknames for them to differentiate. Also, I love how Mika and Yuu-chan (I'm just gonna call our Yuu this as it's his nickname anyways) seem to just accept how weird things are getting in their commentaries. I love their interactions.
Speaking of the new humans, they all seem to have their own personalities (or they were about to have them) but then Shika Madu had the souls of his dead angels occupy them and suddenly there's a change as shown when human Yuu (the new one) reacted when a soul entered his body.
Okay, so there were lots of angels in the angel city but there can't have been a really huge amount of them so I'm guessing the amount of new humans made also had a limit and was just enough to house each angel soul. Angel Mika seem to have his own stuck in his dead body since human Yuu got to "talk" to him. They already have a connection but since human Yuu talked to him after getting possessed by an angel already, is this connection with human Yuu himself or was it with the angel possessor and if it's the latter, which angel was it?
We can only see half of the convo since we could only see human Yuu's side but it feels like angel Mika isn't as hesitant to use others if needed. I mean he's asking for human Yuu's body to use when I think current Mika wouldn't want to do that to anyone. But human Yuu immediately agrees and so angel Mika does it (which means either there're now two angel souls in human Yuu or angel Mika's soul kicked out the previous one).
And finally, they're starting to explain the "Mikaela" thing. The new humans are capable of being possessed by angel Mika probably cause Shika Madu and homonculus Yuu made them. He wasn't paying attention so there's a chance Shika Madu didn't even know that at this point yet. The human Yuu is the first one to try and was the only one who could right now since unline the other new humans, he was the only one who could "hear" angel Mika. Anyways, I'm guessing that's why this memory seem to be a shared one between Yuu-chan and Mika's because it, in a way, is.
Theory that the souls of Shika Madu's precious subordinates are also compatible with new humans who are their look-alikes but it's not a prefect reincarnation where they are themselves from the past which is probably why Shika Madu doesn't care much for them.
That said, another Shika Madu-Guren parallel: they both want to do the ritual correctly in order to bring back their people: the angels for Shika Madu and the humans for Guren. It's probably why letting Mika live and having the keys would probably help revive the angels for Shika Madu while killing Mika and having the keys would let Guren revive the humans.
Well, that was long. I better read the next chapters before I get too lazy to make another post and the chapters get wiped by mangaplus.
My mouse needing replacement I still haven't gotten (I still don't have the money for it at the moment) makes taking screenshots difficult and then tumblr making an annoying "twitter-fied" update made me lose motivation to read this chapter cause I like blogging what I read especially this series. I love this series too much to not yell it out in the void that is tumblr lol.
I used some extensions recommended by other users so that the tumblr layout would be the same as before so I'm sort of okay but I'm still sad the post boxes are a bit thinner than they used to be. I'm struggling a bit with the mouse but it's fine. So yeah, this is late lol
The aftermath of last chapter's tragic events.
Bael comes into the room and sees Paimon dead and angel Mikaela's corpse being cradled by the king. Bael wonders if Paimon killed himself because if he did, that is considered a sin by God which meant Paimon's soul probably would get punished (not sure if it's going to hell or anything cause Shika Madu cut him off before he could finish the sentence).
Bael tried to be supportive and tells Shika Madu this event is just another trial and things could still go well but Shika Madu is having none of it.
Shika Madu just feels tired, helpless, and terrible and he doesn't want to accept the current situation. Their goal has always been to go back to Paradise where God is but Shika Madu is now questioning that goal as the road to it is filled with nothing but pain.
And he just had to find out at that moment that even Bael is sick. bael apologizes cause he knows he won't be around for long enough to help his king.
Bael still tries to be encouraging and tells his king to keep moving forward to Paradise, even if he'd end up going alone. Shika Madu is frustrated at the unfairness of it all.
And Bael tells him he'd be staying behind with Paimon. He also explains that unlike Paimon, he had no expectations. He's not doing all this because he wants the King to fulfil some kind of goal nor did he want to go to Pradise and see God. When Shika Madu asked what Bael wanted, Bael looks at the dead Paimon and answers that whatever it was, he'd no longer be able to get it now. So now all Bael could do is whatever would be asked of him and if Shika Madu wants to start a resistance, he'd be of help if told to.
Bael then takes Paimon's corpse with him and leaves Shika Madu with angel Mikaela's corpse. Now alone (well, technically he can't see Yuu-chan and Mika there), he is left to conteplate on what he should do next and all he knows is that he's at a loss.
Next we see of Shika Madu, he's at a graveyard. Bael had also killed himself so he would be with Paimon in death. Even their graves are shown to be right next to one another's which is pretty sweet considering how close they were.
Their long time goal has finally been met but Shika Madu wonders what the point is now that they've lost so many people in the way. After asking that question, Amon looks to his side and we are shown Belial's grave.
Astaroth answers that there's a reason: to be the first to get to Paradise for the sake of everyone that have passed away. Shika Madu agrees and tells everyone to get ready and tell the others that they'd finally leave the next day.
Shika Madu researches and we get a bit of explanation: the light they've been collecting all this time is power that God had created and it's what they needed to return home. It could also make miracles happen but the angels can't use it this way and if they did anything taboo, they get punished and the worst sins all involve life and death.
But he found some kind of loophole via doing experiments - one of which is how angel Mikaela was created.
He places angel Mikaela in a coffin and asks God if this was his punishment.
God gave him no answer so he just thought of one on his own: commit more taboos using the light they were able to collect. He'd first resurrect angel Mikaela then everyone else as he refused to leave anyone behind.
Homonculus Yuu is okay! And he's got his orders to convert all the light they collected within Babel into darkness. As homonculus Yuu does his job, Shika Madu waits for anything at all to happen whether he be punished or something stops them but nothing does.
And then they appear. It also seems they might have destroyed homonculus Yuu.
--
Okay... I guess we're finally getting to the scene where Shika Madu gets punished and the appearance of the seraphs. I feel bad for him cause yeah, what happened isn't fair. He and the rest have succeeded in getting the power they needed for their goal but they lost so many important people along the way.
Um... can't really tell me not to ship Bael/Paimon after this chapter lol. I wonder what it was that Bael wanted had Paimon not died? Bael is pretty contradictory in a way, I think as he's telling Shika Madu he'd support whatever the latter wants to do while trying to convince him to go through with going to paradise as it was what they (especially Paimon) would've wanted) but then dying after. Bael's death though helped in making Shika Madu find his own choice more acceptable though as Bael's death just added to the pile of people Shika Madu lost.
Shika Madu has proven he cares about his comrades and the rest of his subjects as he's willing to push the limit of what he's allowed to do but he doesn't seem to feel the same way about their current incarnations. My guess back then and even now is that they probably aren't completely the same as what they're used to be and so he doesn't consider them the same person. It's the same with his son Mikaela. If just reviving Mikaela was the goal then he'd have already succeeded as Mika is alive (well, he's currently a demon but still). But he still wants to revive the real angel Mikaela - the one with the memories and the person he spent his time with as family. It's not perfect unless they're the exact same people he's lost.
One of the themes of this entire series from the start is "family". Yuu had to learn and accept he had one in the Hyakuya orphans after his traumatic experience with his real parents and later he had to learn to accept the rest of the Shinoa squad as his new family after he lost the other orphans. Guren also lost his friends who were as important as family to him. Ashera wanted to get reunited with his sister and later, said sister wants to see him again when they got separated. Now they reveal Shika Madu losing what's basically his entire family is what started all this.
This manga felt like a roller coaster and so many things happened and not gonna lie, I'm still not sure the author knows exactly where all this is going but he seems adamant that this story will be about family. I think that's amazing lol.
I have already started reading the chapter after this one but I'd make a post maybe tomorrow hehe. I wish I could do a 2-in-1 but these chapters needed a bunch of screenshots taken. So much lore...
I know the One Piece ad bothered a lot of people and I'm not a fan of the show either (I've watched a couple of episodes when my brothers were watching) but I'm gonna miss the dashboard background they gave whenever I clicked the ad (it was live action Buggy before but turned into the skull icon the day after).
I wish we could get nice backgrounds like this even when it's not an ad for something but tumblr would probably have that as a paid feature :p
ITS SO UGLY?? IT LOOKS LIKE TWITTER BUT WORSE?? BRING BACK MY OLD DASHBOARD PLEASE?? WHAT IS THIS??? This actively makes me want to avoid going on to tumblr y i k e s
@staff where can i leave feedback to get this changed back ASAP?
alright guys buckle up, if we don’t want this desktop to become the new norm here’s what you gotta do:
You gotta open up tumblr support. You’ll can to type it in directly and it works with just putting down tumblr.com/support (feel free to copy and paste),
Its gonna take you to something that looks like this:
Click on the category and change it to feedback:
You can select your main blog or a side blog, whatever you’re seeing the new desktop on, and and then leave some feedback. Be respectful if you can, the picture isn’t required but I figured a visual always helps.
Select I am not a robot and submit your feedback.
It doesn’t need to be super detailed, just take two minutes to write something so we can avoid having this site turn into the ugly twitter layout.
Making posts isn’t enough, we need to leave feedback directly
(If you’ve already submitted feedback, please reblog this so others who haven't know how they can, every piece of feedback given will help)
I also just got the new layout and I hate it so much.
I have provided feedback.
I just received the new desktop layout and it is incredibly difficult for me to use.
Like many people on Tumblr, I am neurodivergent. Unlike many people on Tumblr I was a journalism major and learned all the principles of layout and design. I find the three column layout we start with is too busy and too distracting. My brain and eyes do not know where to go. The white space (or blue space) is all on the outside edges making it not effective for providing separation and areas of focus. As we scroll, we lose right-most column. If it's so important that it must exist, why leave it blank and empty leaving us an expanse of white space.
What I need is spread far and wide, slowing me down and making my use of the site inefficient. Tumblr is not the grocery store. Slowing my progress here will not cause me to spend more money; it will just make me less likely to use the site.
Adding labels to the icons is okay. There were already hover labels so this seems less necessary than your notice of new features implies. But this could improve accessibility, so that's okay. But why did you need to move them to the left side? Long-time users would naturally look for these on the right, where they were all along. This feels like you're punishing the long-time users in order to court the Twitter refugees, which is a massive mistake. They can learn how to use a new site. We don't need to look like Twitter (which, incidentally, I ended up not using simply because the site was a flaming hot mess).
You want people creating content for Tumblr - I mean, that's it's basic function. Make, distribute and share content. Why is the Create button on the bottom left, the last place eyes track to? I missed it the first few times I tried to find it.
In a slightly better world, you would flop the two columns after putting Create at the top of the left column (and keeping it there during scrolling). In an even better world, you'd switch to two columns and get rid of the Radar (no one wants this) and create a "discovery" button to receive recommendations of blogs or posts we might be interested in. Pushing them here is distasteful.
This is not an upgrade and it is negatively impacting my use of the site.
