Martyr Characters. Characters whos heads are stuffed sick with the notion that they are the final solution, the sacrificial lamb, the one who must die to save everyone, restore balance to the universe. Characters who give and give and give of themselves because it's the only way they'll ever be worth anything, the only thing they'll ever be good for, the only way they'll be remembered. Characters who always push others out of the way, always take the hardest punch and the sharpest stab, always throwing themself wherever they know that their loved ones wont be harmed, always secretly hoping that this time will be the time they die, nobley protecting someone they care for, for then their death would mean heroic sacrifice.
