Wheel of Time is an insane book series because really early on it’s established that one of the main characters has the memories of dozens to hundreds of past lives that were all great generals and he also learns to speak a dead language and so far this has not been adequately explained or even questioned by the character.

But I'm also seven books in and we have yet to enter a town and not immediately have the color and materials of the roof tiles described in nauseating detail.

Honestly one of the reasons why I love Mat so much is that he starts speaking a dead language and remembering things from long forgotten generals and then he's like 'huh, weird. Anyways-'

Like, he is for so long Unbothered about whatever happened and his newly acquired skills. It's not even his business honestly, if you ask him - it's Rand's fault for 'being so bloody Ta'veren.' Mat just kind of shrugs and goes along with it. The one time he's like 'finally, I have escaped the pull of Rand Al'thor,' he accidentally becomes the general of a random group of soldiers and helps soon a big battle!

He is the luckiest unfortunate man who sees himself as just some guy. He Who Wore The Hat to Rand's He Who Comes With The Dawn. He's no hero, he's just accepted that he can't fight the pattern and has surrendered himself to the weave.

Honestly the first time I heard Nynaeve, Elayne, and Egwene called the wondergirls I hated it so much and now I’m like omg so true they are the wondergirls

I’m on book 4 of the Wheel of Time and dude - the pacing, the character development, the magic system, the world building, the descriptions, it’s all excellent. I cannot scrape together even one criticism or annoyance I have with this writing and story. I read book 3 in a week.

The dragon is, like, soooo reborn bro.

watching a scene with a fav character can be so humiliating sometimes. like yes i'm watching this scene with this character because i want to see the character. yes i've paused it multiple times because i got too excited. before the character fully entered the screen even. guhhhh

hi can we talk about the candle i want to talk about the candle.

the fact that it is wrapped carefully so it does not shatter. the fact that it is decorated with a guardian angel. the fact that it is lit with someone else's match, with hermes' match. the fact that the fates blow it out in any way the wind blows. the fact that eurydice's candle is out of her hands for most of the show. the fact that when she dies, hermes is the one who blows it out.

that candle is her life, and it is in the hands of the fates and the gods of whether it stays lit or not.

One thing that I really really adored in the Hadestown proshot was the camera focusing on the musicians occasionally. It was such a nice detail to me because all of them are so talented and I like seeing their expressions while the play is going on in the background

so i just watched the hadestown proshot and holy fucking shit i truly think that that is the best proshot i have ever seen so here are some specific things i really loved

amber gray's expressions just wow. she is so expressive and such a phenomenal actress

the way the fates appeared behind orpheus during wait for me

how every time during group numbers the camera focused on a certain person you could hear their vocals more clearly than everyone else

wait for me reprise in 4k with peak sound holy shit eva noblezada i love you so much

the cracking noises during wait for me when the walls opened up

the shots from above/below the stage

how during doubt comes in all the shots were primarily close ups of orpheus so it was hard to tell where eurydice was

one of the people in my theater shouting "NO" when orpheus turned around

literally so many more things i could talk about this proshot for ages

please i beg if you have not/are not intending on seeing it to watch it it is a masterpiece
