Dan Howell’s comfort matters.

WE are more than crazed teenagers that scream over how attractive he is, and HE is more than some attractive boy that crazed teenagers scream over.

He should not have to take it “because of the lols” and we should not be afraid to speak up “because of the lols” and I hate that he feels he should and I hate that some of us feel we should

He is SO MUCH MORE than what the media/youtube culture is reducing him to and we are SO MUCH MORE than what the media/youtube culture is trying to reduce us to

There is nothing wrong with recognizing that you think someone is attractive, nothing wrong with pointing out that someone is recognized as attractive. However it is wrong to reduce someone’s entire career and intelligence to the fact that people do find him attractive. WE are more than crazy, hormonal teenagers. HE is more than some pretty boy we gush over. HE is intelligent, articulate, creative and a wonderful creator and WE are intelligent, articulate, creative and wonderful fans (most of us anyway).

He may have been problematic some times, and some fans may have gone overboard. I am not a stan of any kind.

But Dan Howell’s consent matters. His comfort matters.

And we should never shut up about that.
