the concept of someone loving me for the totality of who I am is something my mind reflexively rejects as fantasy. if someone loves me it must be because they imagine me to be better than I am. they see the shadow I cast on the wall, a photograph out of context, a single side of a dodecahedron. whichever side of me reflects their desires back at them. they love the shell, they love the performance, not the scared, foolish creature within. and usually that's enough. the idea that someone could comprehend all sides of me, perceive every layer individually and all at once and still love the whole... that just sounds like a childish flight of fancy to me. a foolish dream that is altogether far too unrealistic to strive for.

The number of times throughout my life the desperate and obsessive part of my brain has tried to convince me to play video games i personally don’t have interest in playing solely because it falsely believes doing so will make a certain person pay more attention to me and/or spend more time with me is frankly way too high. That’s not how things work and even if it was it probably wouldn’t be worth it

On the one hand playing a game that someone has played and thinks highly of does give you a common ground of something to talk about, and if it’s a multiplayer game you might even play it together once or twice (but rarely ever more than that for some reason). But on the other hand I am a goddamn idiot moron who has wasted countless hours playing games I didn’t even necessarily like in my various desperate attempts to get the attention and approval of a handful of girls over the past decade or so

Went to a pride event for the first time. I got there, walked around and looked at everything, got overwhelmed, started dissociating, started crying, and then left without talking to anyone. So overall it was a pretty good experience
