His plan was garbage, not only was he going to let people die because they were too poor to live in the fancy floating Kingdom but he didn't consider that even the rich would eventually run out of resources and die and eat each other. "This show would be so much better if it would do this thing!" And that thing is something that would basically make it a completely different show. :-/

Like "It would be so much better if they wrote out this character!" That's the literal protagonist.

"It would be so much better if this ship was canon!" That ship would completely change the main characters' dynamic.

"It would be so much better if that villain died right there." He's the main villain, we wouldn't have the same story if he didn't survived.

It's just annoying sometimes. Like it's fine wanting to watch a different show, but then watch a different show!

Protip: If you wanna call someone out or bring up an issue, the worst possible way to do so and the BEST possible way to fail is to whip out the "I'm the only one with the guts to say what everyone's thinking but too afraid to for Reasons" card.

One: You do not speak for everybody.

Two: Sometimes "I don't know how to tell them" isn't the cue for you to go "looks like this is a job for Brutal Honesty" and confront that person.

Three: "I'm the only one with the guts to say it" sounds more like "I'm the hero the people don't know they need but will thank and shower me with praise later" rather than "there's an actual problem we need to address but no one's sure how to discuss it with you without seeming rude or pushy or putting you on the defensive".

Four: "The only one with the guts to tell the truth" is an excuse used by assholes who want praise for being assholes. Period.

Five: Sometimes people are just venting and don't actually WANT someone to confront a person. Sometimes a problem does need to be addressed because it's causing actual trouble, other times people are just petty-venting about someone eating crackers and can live with the cracker-eating.

Six: If you ARE asked to talk to a person, never frame it as "everyone was talking behind your back about how much you suck so it's up to me to tell you off". Not only is admitting to someone you shittalk them behind their back defeating the purpose of PRIVATE venting, you're gonna put the Problem Person on the defensive. You're not going to magically make them fall in line and stop doing the problem things.

Six point five: If you tell someone you and a bunch of others were venting behind their back, you're gonna lose the trust of the people you were venting with. ESPECIALLY if they WERE just venting and didn't want you to say anything. So not only are you using "I'm the only one with the guts to say it" as an excuse to be an asshole, you're throwing other people under the bus.

If someone's being a problem, don't bring others into it. Just bring up how they're affecting things that MATTER (morale, the work system, the way you word things might come off poorly, focusing on the wrong issue, etc).

Or do you just really hate the idea of one and two together even without a rival ship in the picture?

So there's this thing in fandom spaces where people treat their favorite character like a sports team and get very upset when not everyone is rooting for their team because just like sports fans they take it as a personal affront if you're not pulling for the same team and they get angry if their team doesn't win (i.e. the character dies, doesn't get with the Hot Girl, etc.) and start cursing out the ref or the coach (the showrunner, the writers, etc.) just like those parents too invested in their kid's baseball game who get into fistfights with other parents in the parking lot.

I am so tired of short-attention-span, trim-the-fat culture. All writing advice these days is for how to write like Chuck Palahniuk. "Cut 'think', cut 'feel', cut 'wonder' - only action, only pushing forward, show and move and move and move." What if I could emulate this style, and still don't want to? What if I want to write like Henry James, with three paragraphs of introspective musings between each dialogue line? The music advice is, "make it shortform, make it Tik-Tok compatible, make it punchy, hit the refrain as soon as possible." What if I want that 10-minute prog rock piece? What if I want that symphony? What if I want it slow and luxurious and lazy? Movies. Series. Poetry. Bodies. Everything is "trimmed trimmed trimmed trimmed, stripped bare, you have three seconds to win me over, make it airport chic." I don't want to win you over, then, I guess. I want the fat left it. I want the pleasure and the indolence and the indulgence. Fuck this art-advice that's always "your art needs Ozempic."

Me when I spread misinformation about a show on the internet and so called fans believe me because it fit their biases about a certain character :)

1 - Zero surprises, I've been telling you guys these people haven't watched the show in years, if ever, and will latch onto obviously false, easily disprovable claims about Aang being abusive to prop up their own ship.

2 - I've been telling you guys that the "Katara should have kept her scars!" nonsense has always been their attempt to force a parallel with Ozai, as if there's no difference between accidentally hurting someone and deliberately mutilating someone's face.

My own addition: Aang wasn't "having a tantrum", he was recklessly showing off. He wasn't the least bit upset or angry (aka typical tantrum-spawning emotions), he was smiling the whole time. He was over-excited.

Also these are photomanips some butthurt fucker made, not canon. Some butthurt fucker wanted Katara to keep her scars to "teach Aang a lesson" and ignore a pivotal part of her character arc, ignoring how Aang's own guilt was punishment enough and he refused to touch fire again until he went on that life-changing trip with Zuko. And the OP who either thinks they're actually canon or is pushing them as such despite knowing damn well they're not is a fucking moron who needs to get off social media and rewatch the show. With their eyes, not their ass.
