Little TW for descriptive injuries and possibly gore ⚠️
Given my ongoing fic and overall love towards RHM, it has came to my attention that I hadn't really wrote specifically how his prosthetics could work. So, here it is:
First, let's start off with the damage.
There were two ways in how Henry defeated Right. Either by an explosion (a few rockets to be exact) or by a chainsaw. Now, a chainsaw makes sense given the damage, but I digress. To have a little better idea of the injuries (and give Henry the benefit of the doubt that he wouldn't be this violent) we'll go with the rocket route.
The damage that's 100% confirmed from where the prosthetics are, from the attack Right lost two legs, a right hand and had damaged left half of the face with his eye gone. Pretty weird distribution of the damage, so let's try to find a way how to explain it.
Face to hand damage is on opposing side, thus I can imagine that he shielded himself with his right arm and turned his head towards the shoulder, leaving the left side and the arm to be blown off. The skull structure remained mostly intact, but the skin and the eye were burnt off. No severe damage to the brain, allowing him to live a little longer, not sure about the vocal cords tho. The strength of a close contact explosion perhaps?
Now the legs were a bit tricky to figure out since it's way too specific to match with the damage above, but it's a multi rocket after all. I can imagine that they were severely torn and damaged, and the bits that managed to stick to the body needed to be eventually amputated.
I would also assume that he suffered extensive burns to the entire body, leaving light scarring here and there.
So, all the shenanigans on how dr. V brought him to life aside, time to move onto the prosthetics themself.
(Allow me to mention, that Reginald was probably the one to find Right's body, exactly after Henry forced him to name him the chief. I can only imagine how much he probably muttered apologies and little prayers for him to be fine, while looking at his massacred body)
Now let's start from the legs. Given that they are metal from top to bottom (no dick, no balls and probably no butthole since this guy feeds off of radiation /ref), they need to support the whole body without putting much strain on the spine. They also function as a means to fly, but I see it more like a way to propel himself through the air. Launching off the ground is difficult, as well as flying on a windless day. Instead on rocket fuel, I'm thinking something between solar panels, wind power from spare turbines and energy taken from the body itself.
The arm is the main weapon. Apart from working like a normal hand, it can extend (with the whole forearm) to create a greatsword. Now for the cool factor, I would add a more practical blade (kinda like mantis blades from cyberpunk) and of course claws extended from the tips of his fingers. The arm itself is a little bulkier that his natural one, much more durable, stronger and it basically doesn't tire. The most strain is being put on the spine as mentioned before, so I can imagine he has some kind of brace so he doesn't exhaust himself from just merely standing.
The face plate is arguably the most unclear to headcanon, since it needs to be said at first how deep the damage actually goes. In my hc, I think that the first layer of prosthetics lay within the eye itself, as the wires are connected to the nerves to actually project image. That cybernetic eye is also able to produce a laser, which needs to be powered by another external source. The plate itself covers the skull, mostly parts that lack skin. Few teeth definitely needed to brake off or shatter, so the whole side is replaced by metal ones, and the jaw itself is detached and made out of softer fabric to allow movement, connected by synthetic hinges to the upper part. (Did I mention that some part of his tongue was probably damaged too?)
The hair and mustache eventually grew, and once it was enough, they just made a sort of wig, and the hair that was big enough was stylized to cover the bald spots.
Now, to make his life even harder, I came up with an idea of special medicine that allows his body to accept the foreign appendages. Immune system would tire him out, as the prosthetics wouldn't work alongside anymore (it's difficult for living tissue to be accepted, all the more does it apply to metal). So, he needs to take the medicine to reset his immunity and nervous system to trick it into thinking that the metal is a part of the body.
Yeah, so that's all for the rant. I ain't a biologist so take it with a grain of salt, and if y'all have some of your own interpretations, I'm all ears!
