When studying queer history, especially asexual and aromantic history, silence is an immediate problem. The only way to know whether or not someone is asexual or aromantic is through their own identifying as such. The newness of asexual and aromantic communities and silence around sexual orientation has robbed us of this. Finding asexuality historically as an identity, instead of a choice or behavior, is often impossible. Instead of hoping for a definite answer, we must look at behavior, despite every claim that asexuality and aromanticism are identities, not behaviors, read between the lines, and accept that we may never know. Hey i was just wondering where this webseries will air (youtube or somewhere else?) And when the 1st ep is expected to come out. So so excited!!! Already donated and shared your link!!

We actually planned to ask our following where they usually watch most of their content actually! As of right now, we’re still deciding between Vimeo and Youtube. We will put a poll up soon which people can vote in and I will include it in this ask later. The webseries as a whole will be expected to release at the end of the year, December 2018. However, for people who have paid to see the “Early Access” perk they will be receiving the first episode much sooner via private link So they should expect to see that by the start of the summer.

“Dawn with arms of roses” is a new anthology dedicated to queer joy and published by Gal Pals Present. The anthology features 80+ pages of poetry, prose, and visual art by 25 LGBTQ artists from 7 different countries, and it will be available for purchase on September 15th. 50% of proceeds will be donated to the Sylvia Rivera Law Project. Photos by Sarah Lemke.

The name comes from one of Sappho’s fragments, and the project is all about appreciating and honoring the lives of queer folk. The fact is, this world is not safe for queer people. It’s mean, and it’s nasty, and it often doesn’t want us to celebrate ourselves. But our community has always succeeded in finding joy despite, and this anthology is all about spreading that joy.
