oops: stopped caring in the third grade, somehow manages to get okay grades, never studies, kind of lazy, would eat Waffle House at 3 in the morning

sweatshirt: is trying as hard as they possibly can, has to study and work hard for their grades, constantly stressing, has social anxiety, tries to do every extra curricular under the sun

aesthetique: probably vegetarian or vegan, has a “mom jean” 80′s aesthetic, glorifies local cafes, wants to live in Europe, always wants to cut their hair

gothique: black clothes only, still stans my chemical romance, uses sarcasm as a defense mechanism, desperately wants some tattoos, likes the black lipstick look but too shy to do it

Dear JSE Artists...

Hi, y’all probably haven’t heard of my url. But I just really want to say something...

To the artists who think they aren’t good enough, you are. You may see all the other artists around who you think are worlds better than you. But how can you honestly compare your art to theirs and say “they are better”? Your art is yours, it came from your brain via your hands. And you are improving. Don’t believe me? Go look back at old drawings of yours. See the improvements you have made. I promise you, you will find things that you like better in your newer stuff, and maybe stuff you like better in your older stuff. The only way to know is to look and observe. As my art professor said, “Judgement ruins art. When you begin to judge your art, you won’t feel it is good. As long as it fulfills the requirements you had in mind for this piece, then it succeeds as a piece. You cannot compare your art to others because they had different requirements as a piece.”

If you don’t believe me, go back and look at the masters. You cannot compare Monet to Michelangelo, as they had very different styles and very different ways of making art.

And a tip from a not so great artist: study the natural world, how things move, how light behaves on surfaces, what shapes comprise what basic structures. If you struggle with people, sit in a busy place and study the face shapes and how hair works or how hats and glasses fit on the people around you. Just don’t be creepy bout it

Goodbye 2018

There's a few other people doing this in the tag so why not chronical my year? (Also I live in the western US and New Year's takes ages to get here)

2018...you've been wild. The ups and downs have been extreme, this year more than ever. In January I fell very ill with the flu that quickly turned to pneumonia, and around the same time my grandmother passed away from dementia. Not a great time. The rest of spring 2018 was basically me dealing with healing from the second bout of pnuemonia in my life and trying to be motivated to graduate high school. May was crazy. Graduation, Drama club banquet (where the club celebrates the year and seniors say goodbye to everyone), light designing short shows, and saying goodbye. Lost a lot of friends.

Where the first part of the year sucked, summer was meh. I worked everyday I'm the summer as a CNA, and struggled to save up to pay for my freshman semester. I hardly saw anyone I knew, but I felt better than I had in a long time. August saw a road trip across my state to national parks and beautiful locations. We went to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary to volunteer and I think I found the place I want to live one day: Kanab, UT.

Then my first semester of college at my dream school. It's amazing to finally be here, where I always wanted to go. I was always unsure of what I wanted to do in college, and found my way this year. I'm currently pre-MLS and I'm so excited for the future. The laboratory is where I want to be, working abroad to further discuss research. I've never felt more sure in my life. Passed my finals in December, somehow, after struggling with Gen Chem 1. I got A's :). Sadly ended the year with a tonsillectomy, which is one of the worst surgery recoveries for an adult and I'm very, very sorry for anyone who has to deal with it. I will make one suggestion: if you can, eat less processed foods. They will taste better. And I highly suggest that the first week you try and eat baby food. It's pureed, soft and cold. Even if it is gross, eat it. You will want to keep food in your stomach to help you not commit your meds. Trust me.

All in all...it's been rough 2018, but I have grown more than ever, and have grown closer to people I never thought I would. Hell, maybe 2019 will see a certain friend of mine become even closer than he is if ya catch my drift. Who knows? Just like Jack, I'm hopeful for next year, and I'm really holding on to PMA, as some days it was the only thing that kept me going. So let 2019 be the year of better things, and of improving myself. And please, don't let me get as sick as I was in 2018? Pretty please?

I’m a hard worker. I work two jobs as a waitress and in retail until the furniture store closes in Jan. I’m currently looking for work at camera rental houses and other restaurants. I have a good shot at one place, but I need to check on it after I get off work today. 

I’m self-training on adobe premiere to become a video editor,  so I can have a real future. I just found my dream of being a creator on YouTube last April after all these years of hardship and searching for purpose. I don’t want to give that up.

I don’t need a handout. I can pay $500/mo and provide my own internet. I just need a home.

As some of you may know (or not) Pamela Horton has been going through it this year with medical problems. The poor girl has been in and out of the hospital for various reasons and it’s become a bit of a challenge financially for her.

You probably remember Pam best from her role as Celine in Who Killed Markiplier. She is so much more then that though. She is the sweetest human being who genuinely cares about the people she surrounds herself with. She also cares deeply for her fans and strives to get to know them on an individual level. She wants to know what you’re doing, what you’ve been up to and how you’ve been overall. If you can donate then that is more than helpful. I’m just trying to get the message across all platforms to help this poor girl out. This year has really been quite tough and nobody should have to go through this.

Help me out guys

Hey so this is an odd request to ask of this community. I got my tonsils removed this past Tuesday, and good God does my throat hurt. Worst part is I don't want to eat anything cause everything tastes like metal. The metallic taste comes from the pain-killers and the surgery itself.

So any suggestions for soft food that can kill the metallic taste? Not ice cream, I've got that covered. But anything else would be highly appreciated.

Man I'm old here

I started watching Jack and Mark in 2015...almost 4 years ago. How wild is that?!? At the time I joined Jack's channel, he had just hit 5 million subs and now he is close to 21 million.

When I joined Mark's channel, he was just about to hit 7-8 million, and the congrats video for 7-8 million was about to come out. Now Mark is way over 20 million subs. It's crazy...I remember seeing people who had been with Jack and Mark since the start and I felt so little. Now I see people who are just as new as I felt. I wanna say "Welcome to he community! It's lovely here, Mark likes to post bizarre stuff and Jack likes to set his community on fire occasionally! We have fun here!"

Man I feel old now XD. Never realized I had been here so long. I really can't imagine my high school years without Mark and Jack and their videos. I just finished my first semester of college, and boy did I need to hear the encouraging words from both of them, and lots of you guys in the communities. Thank you Mark and Jack for everything over the last four years! I would not be who I am today without you guys to look up to when everything seemed lost. ❤️
