PLEASE use the digital resources from your library! If you're looking to decentralize, to wean yourself from streaming services and subscriptions your public library should be your first stop!
Most US American public libraries offer Kanopy and/or Hoopla, which offer streaming movies and documentaries.
Hoopla also has ebooks, eaudio, and some music.
Libby has ebooks, eaudio, and emagazines.
CloudLibrary has ebooks and eaudio.
Your library also probably offers things like NYT or WSJ subscriptions, Flipster, Newstand or Ground News. Consumer Reports (for reviews and ratings on products!), auto repair source for vehicle repair schematics and instructions, ancestry.com for genealogical research and probably access to your local paper's digital archive.
I guarantee you your library has more to offer than you realize. If you don't have a card, or are only checking out physical materials, PLEASE consider exploring your library's website and seeing what you're missing!
