Bulldozing of forests has killed more than 5 000 koalas in Queensland in just 4 years.

The populations around Brisbane have collapsed by 50-80% in less than 20 years.

“Fun” facts about tigers:

100,000 wild tigers roamed Asia a century ago, but now there is around 3,200 due to poaching;

There were once 9 subspecies of tigers: Bengal, Siberian, Indochinese, South Chinese, Sumatran, Malayan, Caspian, Javan and Bali. Of these, the last three are extinct, one is extinct in the wild, and the rest are endangered;

In average more than 100 tigers are killed each year;

A dead adult tiger male can sell for U.S. $10,000 or more on the black market.

Let’s talk about the impact on the environment. Some quick facts that every smoker should consider before throwing their cigarettes to the ground:

4.5 trilion cigarette butts are discarded anually;

About 1.69 billion pounds of cigarette butts winding up as toxic trash each year;  

 Cigarettes contain more than 7,000 chemicals that can contaminate water and poison animals;

It can take 18 months to 10 years for a cigarette filter to decompose.

Killed by the ingestion of plastic that we, humans, gladely, gift the ocean with, this litlle chick was found in a group of islands in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands Marine National Monument among with other carcasses of Laysan albatross chicks.
